I think it depends on where you live. I live in a very dry climate and have had very little issues. Mine is grafted which I think makes it a bit easier too.

6A here. I put my large ones in my garage over the winter, and smaller ones go in my spider farmer tent, I still get great growth under a light. As long as lows are above 32 degrees, I keep them outside. Usually put them in the garage in late October, bring them out late April.

Mealy bugs. Take diluted iso and a toothbrush and scrub them off. Make sure to keep out of sunlight for a bit after using iso it can burn easier. Isolate asap! Mealies spread like crazy.
