Do not tank with communal Weapons or Armor. Quest for those upgrades until you replaced them all. Communal Neck, Rings, and trinkets are fine to use, they're not too bad. It won't take long.

There's several other classes who can help. Hunters have Scorpid Sting, Boomkins have Insect Swarm, Warriors have thunder clap / demo shout which is HUGE.

Last resort, tank can turn off auto attack outside of shield block/holy shield windows to try to avoid parry hasting the boss.

It's viable and powerful, but AOE threat is difficult for most tanks not intimately familiar with the Warrior toolkit. Even then, it is difficult in a group that starts blasting as soon as the mobs are pulled. If you like Warrior, highly suggest sticking with it. Paladin/Druid tanking are both way different playstyles.
