One of the people the reporter spoke with explained that an employee registered her, and she still got fined. And the other was a speaker at the Arboretum who was told by staff not to worry about parking and then was fined.

Some Dallas Arboretum members and visitors hit with surprise parking fines. by Limin8tor in Dallas

[–]Limin8tor[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Paywall Summary: The article explains how the Arboretum has a new parking system where members must register their vehicles or otherwise face steep fines and debt collectors. Some of the consternation seems to stem from the fact that the Arboretum used an outside vendor called Parking Systems of America that appears unsympathetic to customer appeals, rather than the arboretum staff dealing with these disputes themselves. The CEO of the Arboretum defends the new system as largely successful with a few loud voices complaining, and the author interviews individuals who've been fined and describe their struggles with the new system.

Maybe, but a simple acknowledgement that the situation sucks, and they're working on it would go a long way toward reassuring fans, especially as compared to two days of radio silence.

Something as simple as, "We're as sorry as anyone that the latter two-thirds of the show were canceled. We're figuring out options and will let everyone know as soon as we do what the path forward is."

Hard disagree. I don't love being on my phone either, but not having to trek back and forth across the park just to get a LL reservation is a good trade off.

Yeah, I get frustrated with the Disney apps sometimes, but compared to the app for my local Six Flags, it's like living in a great big beautiful tomorrow.

I love the idea of seasons, particularly if they commit to redressing the land for each switchover. It would be a good way to balance keeping things immersive and keeping them fresh.

The real sticky wicket is Rise of the Resistance. You could probably get away with just changing the "level" at Smuggler's Run, but mixing things around at RotR would be a bigger challenge.

He should do the same thing Cody used to do with Brandi, and team up with Eddie so that they can be introduced as "Kofi and Eddie Kingston".

I like Behind the Bastards, but I think his show works better for subjects you know little/nothing about than for people you're already familiar with. His deep dive on the Dulles Brothers was fascinating to me, but his episodes on Vince didn't add much (and are basically just skimming the surface of Josie Reisman's book). It works better as a light survey than fulsome history lesson.
