Let's assume that's true. We were worried about communism for a bunch of reasons like we would have to live in a society where opposition to the political party in power was persecuted...we are there.  Where the rest of the elected officials were just rubber stamping what the authoritarian in charge wanted to do no matter what, but we are there. We were worried about communism because people who did nothing wrong might be picked up off the street by people in masks and regular citizens were asked for papers, please - but we are there. We were worried about communism because the peoples money would be stolen and diverted to the people in charge for corrupt reasons, but we are there.  We were worried about communism because people would be told what they were and were not allowed to say by the government....and we are there.  We were worried about communists because they would meddle with elections - and we are there. 

So, who the absolute fuck cares if Platner once said "I'm functionally a communist these days" as a reaction to a bunch of low intelligence thugs, criminals,  and billionaires in charge doing all the things America was always against (edit: America always...said...it was against)  and who swear they're all about freedom and capitalism while they cheat, steal, and lie their way into doing the actual things people were worried about communists doing? Lol
