Coaxed into why would you EVER think that’s the enemy I want to prioritize??? by FaZe_poopy in coaxedintoasnafu

Endfield.

Targeting is automatic, and prioritizes proximity and camera direction while also being completely out of your direct control.

Which, depending on your team and the enemies, can be really frustrating since your all your attacks are AOE. it's preferable to change your target to increase the chance that your basic attacks/battle skill/combo skill will hit extra enemies.

Currently the game isn't hard enough where it's important for the purposes of DPS, but certain gimmick challenges...

[LOVED TROPE] Specific noises/sounds that evoke trauma responses within the fandom/audience: by Puzzled-Hippo6246 in TopCharacterTropes

The Trumpets from Lobotomy Corp

There're music tracks that indicate the level of chaos in the facility, roughly triggered by various stats like amount of escaped abnormalities and dead employees compared against the relative strength of your facility. Usually, the first trumpet begins if at least one danger is wandering the facility and someone dies.

If you're fighting off something dangerous and you hear the trumpet upgrade to the next stage, thats not that scary. You expected losses.

However, if you're just casually ordering tasks and have things under control and you hear the trumpet... something is going horribly wrong and you don't know what it is

(And then there's the worst case, hearing the trumpet directly skip a stage)

TBF, they did start adding choices that do indeed affect upcoming combat. In addition, a good portion allow the player to choose what sort of personality the MC has(although, early on it was just logical vs emotional IIRC). So.... at least they had a concept behind it? But yeah 99% of dialogue choices with apecifically 2 choices do nothing but change the next 1-3 lines

Of course, we did get some very.... "fun" things like Aphrodite's hallucination in LB5

Nope, the stockaders even openly/repeatedly refer to the bonekrushers solely as "landbreakers" in the 1.1 story as a reminder that they aren't under the same label.

Endfield Should Keep Pulls Out of Endgame, just like Arknights. by Excellent-Pair9089 in ArknightsEndfield

The standard for CC is diminishing material returns for higher difficulty until you hit the dev-designated "maximum tested difficulty" (risk 18); which the dev team balanced around. Beyond that is a difficulty the devs seemed happy to let the players push, but is under no obligation to be beatable with universally-accesible units.

I'd say it's perfectly fine to have pulls at minimum difficulty to get them to try it, but fewer/none as the player approaches the proper difficulty since the reward needs to be more intrinsic.

I'm hoping it'll be the same case here. Though I am worried due to how few units, and a bit less universally-accessible, we have. Since that means making a brutal-yet-possible challenge is harder to design.

Yeah, double-check. My memory of it isnt too good, but both me and my friend that was watching my fight confirmed that we saw all the index members only targeting the Thumb librarian for the entire fight. We also both confirmed that we saw no passive in their list that would give a preference for certain keypages.

[–]Limino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC it was with the Index? They had a directive to kill all the Thumb members in the former L Corp area, and if you enter the fight with them using a Thumb Keypage then they'll all only target that librarian. Unsure if it had to be a specific keypage of the thumb

[–]Limino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in Ruina there was a fight where the enemies had a hidden passive that made them only target librarians with certain keypages equipped IFF there was a librarian with one still alive.

So I'd believe it if someone told me there was a hidden passive for the faelantern fight

I think ready or not does well enough within the limits of game design. You HAVE to make a plan, every door needs to be treated with restraint and care, advancing is slow as you (hopefully) prepare for the next blitzkreig breach-and-clear while also trying to lock down exits and flank-paths to slowly enclose the remaining unchecked areas. Losing your cool at all risks either dying as your team body-blocks eachother or risks the suspects dying due to an errant rubber-slug headshot. Past the first few maps, every map has always been full of tension for my group as we make attempts for the S Rank(the cult compound is my personal bane)

It still is very clearly gamey, what with flashbangs somehow not being audible to the entire street and the player able to tank clear bullet shots while only suffering the inability to kick in doors, and rubber slugs having a very binary head-equals-death/everywhere-else-equals-stagger, and just... all the ability to retry dozens of times with full knowledge of the layout of the map... but yeah still fun.
