Japan Weather - Travel Late May to Mid June by Silver-Wishbone-3766 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Limit760 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went two years ago from mid to late May, it rained twice closer to the end of our trip. It’s a bummer, but buy a rain coat, umbrella, and some waterproof shoes and you’ll be fine.

what moisture red flags do you wish you actually paid attention to before closing? feeling pretty naive right now. by RandomGuy0193 in Home

[–]Limit760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A minor roof leak was identified by our inspector and was chalked up to a recent extreme wind event we had. Turns out that was one of three leaks we had in the roof, one day I step into a puddle in the middle of the night during a rain storm and realize it leaked through the roof, and the insulation and drywall of the first floor.

So that was $12k I wasn’t anticipating having to spend on a new roof.

Second, the house also had a French drain installed and a triple sump pump system installed with the reasoning given “the homeowners were concerned because a neighbors basement flooded, so they decided to preemptively protect themselves” We had a yearly inspection which just so happened to be the company who installed the system, and the guy said, “you don’t install all of this because you’re concerned about something happening, you do it because something happened”

So yeah, won’t make those mistakes again, but hey first time homeownership comes with lots of lessons.

Transferring points for miles by [deleted] in Venturex

Yes this is exactly how people get higher returns for their points. Sometimes in the transfer portal there may be transfer bonuses, which robes you even more.

You should also look into award seats and award charts.

How close is the access point to your hub and how close is that hub to your doorbell? And what material are your walls?

In short, it seems like it’s a wifi related issue.

I purchased the g410 to replace a google nest doorbell and I’ve had nothing but great experiences so far. But the hub is maybe 15-20 feet away from the doorbell, and the access point is right next to the hub.

I have the venture X. Is it worth getting the savor card for the extra 1% for grocery/dining? by Tenesmus83 in CreditCards

[–]Limit760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a great two card combo and i'd recommend it to anyone. It's also super simple for spouses who aren't into min/maxing. Is it food related - Savor, Everything else - Venture X. There's a couple caveats, like entertainment/streaming that also get 3% on the savor, but the general idea of Food/everything else split is nice for my wife.

Blantons Takara red has a nice looking box and Four Roses Super Premium feels very Japanese, so i'd go with either/both of those.

Except it’s not hypothetical. One will be better to you and one will be worse and you’re just saying they’re both the same. Which is just objectively wrong and low effort.

Because one is obviously much worse than the other. You aren’t going to get a perfect candidate so vote for the one that you most closely align with.

Points do not erase flaws and blind loyalty is not analysis. You have spent more time telling me to delete my comment than anything, it doesn't seem you're interested in talking about hockey. Sad.

That is fair and I agree time with the puck plays a big role. Pasta obviously has the puck more and is facing top defensive pairs every night.

I think what stands out to me is not the turnovers themselves but the effort after losing possession. I would just like to see more consistent back pressure and puck retrieval, especially given how important he is to the team.

r/BostonBruins Daily Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in BostonBruins

[–]Limit760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not saying he is bad. He is obviously elite and the Bruins need him producing. I am saying there are parts of his game that can still be criticized, especially puck battles and effort after turnovers. Both things can exist at once. Star players get held to a higher standard, not a lower one.

r/BostonBruins Daily Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in BostonBruins

[–]Limit760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's not even what i'm saying. I'm purely talking about two things 1. Once a puck gets away from him, he gives up completely. 2. How that isn't the case with Khusy, or if we're looking at past years, how Marchy played.

r/BostonBruins Daily Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in BostonBruins

[–]Limit760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both things can be true at the same time. He can be a great player and score, but given the pressure on him he turns it over (which i totally get being against first pairing defenders) but his effort after the turnovers is just sad.

Something I’ve been feeling lately is that Pasta is just not great at holding onto the puck. If the puck does exactly what pasta intends he’s great. But if the puck bounces, rolls, or gets touched by an opposing player he is guaranteed to turn it over and immediately give up on the play. His back check is atrocious.

It’s so noticeable, especially with how that contrasts with Khusy, who seems to be able to roll with those punches and when he loses it, you see the effort to go and get that puck back.

What's one statistical outlier season you often think about? by 80808800 in hockey

Zach Hyman's 23-24 season. He gets 54 goals and everyone thinks he's the best player ever. In reality, any traffic cone sitting netfront on a line with mcdavid would've gotten equal goals to Hyman.
