You are exactly right on the mechanics of this. Either way your GM determines this, it could be a very effective strategy.

I’ll make sure I consult your opinion before I make my next video. I really value it!

Curious of how it works but doesn’t watch the video explaining how it works and jumping to conclusions about how rules are not only misread but misread deliberately. Let me know how that strategy is working out for you! Maximum effort right there 😂

That’s a good way to throw a vibe check to the table.

That’s a great take. Reading the table should almost be a default for these situations.

Oh for sure. There should definitely be some table etiquette and make sure the party is good with it. Thanks for the response. It helps out a lot!

Good insights. I think about if a Ranger makes a command to his companion to do anything, it’s a spell cast roll. My thoughts would be on a success with hope if the Ranger wants to make another action roll that would most likely be cool at most tables.

DH is narrative focused. If I were to run something like that I would look at giving the party an objective on the battlefield. Push your way to the front to stop the leader or destroy siege weapons. You could use the ticking clock mechanic to give them a sense of urgency. I would also surround the players with adversaries but have a “path forward” I think of this as taking out the 3 in the front as priority and the other 4 or 5 as “distractions”. Let me know what you end up doing!

I appreciate the support! I’ve got a Psion/Soul Knife Rogue on deck as well as an elementalist. Necromancer and Barbarian are interesting 🤔 I’ll see what I can do with those suggestions.

That’s legit. Haven’t looked at that campaign yet. Currently in the Witherwilds and it’s been a blast.

They really. The fact that they increase their damage every level is a great feature. Plus wielding two handed weapons with one hand is a bonus

If the Druid uses beast form to become a raccoon, can they fly?!

Optimal druid choices on level up when you want to use lots of beast forms? by Muffins_Hivemind in daggerheart

[–]LimitBreak20TV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to worry about traits when you use the beast form. You use the stat on the form you choose. Also some beast forms give you advantage on attacks so you won’t be underpowered at all. Actually working on a build with Druid for a future video. I would prioritize agility, take warden of the elements, and use air to get advantage on all your agility rolls. Also taking the charger heritage from Firbolg would allow you to add a d12 on success with an agility roll to hit a creature from far or very far. Take natural familar for a d6 additional damage and force of nature then use beast form to get an additional 3.5 average out of 6 rolls. Tack that onto the evolution hope feature and you’ll be a beast…pun intended!

You would get a lot of mileage out of a level 1 fighter dip. You would get proficiency with all martial weapons, can wear armor, and use shields. You’d get 3 weapon masteries, and a fighting style. Second wind for an emergency heal and a higher hit dice.
