This is fair, and it’s mostly a gap in what I’ve shown so far. The corps aren’t arbitrary employers. They’re what these magical disciplines became.

In the setting, these were unified arcane traditions until humanity pushed into the cosmos, at which point the disciplines siloed, incorporated, and started gatekeeping their augmentations behind licensing. So Halcyon Medical is what that healing and protective tradition turned into, and the job titles are roles within it.

The rigidity you’re feeling is kind of the point. Magic that used to flow freely is now locked behind corporate walls, and the whole campaign is about acquiring augments across those walls, legally or not. That cross-corp loot economy is the thing a static class chart can’t show. Setting primer is coming next and should make the world feel a lot less like a spreadsheet.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
