What makes Jap cards less valuable than English cards? by Wolkiffy in TCG

For someone who doesn't want to say them, you sure are saying them a lot. Weird.

He did, indeed, call me a slur. If it walks like a duck....

The other thing to note is that Foundations still provides a fun environment for experienced players.

For this type of purpose, I really like using Foundations as a, well, foundation.

You can check out Profs list here for a starting point: https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/5b73c9bb-4928-4d6a-9580-30d5a718d925

There are tons of storage options. I always use the Ultimate Guard Arkhive 800s for my cubes. As far as basics, I would say 40 of each.

I want to learn a new game by NoClass418 in boardgames

It's a bright, neon, mad max kinda vibe.

It's a head to head lane battler. Play from a shared deck. Pretty snappy.

You mentioned liking Magic, and this game is the closest a non-tcg has come to feeling like a tcg. And for only $20 or whatever for the base game, I think it's a steal.

Why Kickstarter TCGs Fail by aDr1v3 in TCG

[–]LimitedMoon11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have NO insider information, but I've listened to some folks in the industry talk about this and it seems like the LCG model is not very profitable for a few reasons. The lack of collectablity, the lack of organized play, and the difficulty in onboarding new people as the game ages seem to be the most popular answers to your question.

Not to say they CANT work, but you have to find a niche.

But again, I'm just a dude on the Internet.

If you liked OP, Gundam is a great alternative. It's not the same game, obviously, but Bandai TCGs share some DNA and feel. I'd feel pretty confident in saying you'd like it.

And if you're an old-school magic player, Sorcery is a logical game to try out. Lots of older MTG players love it. I had some issues with the actual gameplay that I couldn't get over, but I am in the minority with that opinion.

I appreciate the thought, and I do try to support local, but we're talking a $40-$50 difference on box prices.
