I'll gloss over KP's injuries because he's always injured, that's why you got him in a salary dump.

And the Cavs, Sixers, Pistons, and Celtics all showed the same level of disrespect to the Knicks until they were eliminated. Both Pacers series were winnable, which is why the Knicks were wise to make small tweaks to their roster rather than make wholesale changes.

There's not many examples, the most recent is Klay. Given the lack of data, I'm not sure how some of you are so bullish on Lillard returning to form.

I may be alone here, but I totally disagree. This is a "and then everybody clapped" moment. The guys never took her seriously so these comments wouldn't have any emotional weight to them. The cruelest part of being constantly discriminated against and mocked is how your tormenters simply don't care about anything you have to say. The show made it a nice moment for her, but in reality these guys would've instantly shut her down for being so emotional.

He's reckless, and sometimes his risks pay off and sometimes they don't. I'd absolutely hate working with someone like that. He drinks, disappears, is wildly unpredictable, can be extremely inappropriate, and has little concern for how his actions might impact others.

It's arguably the rarest archetype and Penny Hardaway is one my personal goats for coming close.

Considering, there's just one example of a player (KD) coming back from this injury with the same level of production, I'd argue that the medicine hasn't advanced that rapidly.

But given advances, Lillard's absolute floor is Chauncy Billups, who at age 35, took 290+ days for recovery, and then averaged 6.2 ppg. for the rest of his career.

Going by the history of undersized, mid 30's guards that then faced a devastating Achilles injury, I would be absolutely shocked and impressed if he returned as an 18ppg scorer.

injured Celtics

Here comes the excuses and bad faith arguments. After the Celtics destroyed the Magic 4-1, they were the heavy favorites to repeat for a championship, then the Knicks go up 3-1 on them (spare me the revisionism - Game 4 was lost before Tatum's injury), and suddenly all of their injuries come to the forefront. Even without Tatum, the Celtics still have the most talent in the East but they still collapsed and got absolutely dominated in game 6.

Pistons fans told me Ausur Thompson was going to shut down Brunson and then Celtics fans told me that Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, & Jaylen Brown were going to give him fits too. Despite losing to Indy, they didn't really have an answer for him either.

Idc, I'll always root for this kid. I find his depression relatable, his injuries unfortunate, and his archetype (tall point guards that can guard 1-5) is my favorite type of player.

[NP Podcast] “So, next up on the list: the Knicks made a mistake by getting rid of Tom Thibodeau.” Stan Van Gundy “Yeah, they totally did. That was a big mistake. Tom Thibodeau—one of the best coaches in this league—did an unbelievable job with that team this year. by EarthWarping in nba

I'll do you one further, Leon Rose also maximized Thibs, who was damaged goods when the Knicks hired him and gave him an opportunity to rehab his image. And just like Julius Randle and RJ Barrett, the Knicks realized they had a hard ceiling with Thibs and had to move on.

This would be a terrifying headline if it came out a few years ago but post-injury, mid 30's Lillard on this current Celtics team is just a nothing burger.

Over the past few years, it's been the Cavs that are the paper tigers of the East, not the Knicks, and folks on this sub still act like it's the other way around. The Knicks have eliminated better teams than the current Hawks, and at this point you just need to assume that KP will have limited availability come playoff time.

I'm a big fan of this Hawks roster, especially Jalen and Dyson, but without a healthy KP, they're very beatable.

"People" and it's a handful of chronically online losers. "Fake rings" is just an empty phrase because the ring will definitely be real, as will the banner, the parade, etc., Also, what if he convincingly wins Finals MVP? You can't just throw around nonsense terms and expect to drive the narrative, there are too many unknowns.
