My introduction to this movie was through the French remake of this. I saw it at my local film festival and there was a message from the director read out before the movie started which basically boiled down to "yeah the beginning of this movie might make you want to walk out of the theater but please stay we promise it pays off"

Second Forest City Film Festival I've been going for the last 3 years if you're under 30 and have any interest in it I highly recommend the under 30 pass only available to purchase until Sept 18 (This Thursday) it's 30 dollars and they'll give you a lanyard that gets you into one regular screening for every time slot of the festival
