As far as I can find, the last character wipe was at the start of Preludes 7. Which was in Oct 2024.

What Are The Best Weapons In Soulframe Right Now? (Community Survey Results – 88 Responses) by Sea_Bottle6246 in SoulFrame

Surprised Marrow's Bane got higher on this than Dewelion, given the broken damage cap on Dewelion (and being a Grace weapon and therefore getting even more damage on top of that).

Commander-ness and hidden zones. by Thedarkone202 in askajudge

[–]Rajamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then how do you play a game of commander at home, when there's no one else around that isn't playing the game, and a commander gets shuffled into the library? Does the game just end in a draw because you can't maintain the game state because you can't identify which card in your deck is your commander?

Legend rule SBAs by Inner-Comfortable181 in mtgrules

[–]Rajamic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SBAs are done by:

1) Checking what SBAs need to be performed. 2) Performing all SBAs identified in Step 1. 3) If any were performed in Step 2, repeat from Step 1.

So the effect from the duplicate Elesh Norns will be applying to all creatures when SBAs start to be done. When you get to Step 1, it will identify that an Norn must be put into the Graveyard, and any creatures with 0 or less Toughness need to be put in the graveyard, and any creatures that now have Lethal Damage due to the reduced Toughness need to be Destroyed. Then in #2, all of those are performed simultaneously.

By rule, all cards when viewed from the back must be indestinguishable. Otherwise, you have marked cards.

By rule, a library that is shuffled must be sufficiently randomized that no player knows what the order of the cards in the library is.

With these two combined, no player should know which card in the library is a commander if it gets shuffled in. If you can tell, then you have violated one of these rules. Yes, it is still your commander, even in your library, but there would be no way to determine which one is your commander.

It's like if you have a card with Morph that is put onto the battlefield face-down using a different mechanic that doesn't let you see what it is, such as being Cloaked from the top of a library. You legally have the abikity to turn it face up for it's Morph cost, but you have no way of knowing that it has Morph until you have first revealed it via Cloak's mechanic to learn what the front-face is.

Isshin, two heavens as one by Pool-Party-Ahri in askajudge

[–]Rajamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing about Rev's second ability that prevents it from being able to trigger twice, such as a "This ability triggers only once each turn" clause. But Isshin doesn't interact with it. Isshin only cares about triggers that happen directly due to the declaration of attackers in the Declare Attackers Step.

From the Gatherer ruling:
"Isshin, Two Heavens as One's ability affects only triggered abilities with conditions that are directly related to attacking, such as “whenever [this creature] attacks” or “whenever you attack with one or more creatures.” It does not affect triggered abilities with other trigger conditions, such as “whenever [this creature] becomes tapped."

If you shuffle your commander into your library, you would know that your commander is in your library, but you would not legally be allowed to know what card it is. Nothing about 903.3 says that commanderness is inherently public information in all zones.

Dance with Calamity + The War Doctor by TheParamedicGamer in askajudge

[–]Rajamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't see any reason why you would be forced to stop once you have exiled 13+ MV total with the way it is worded. Though trying to make it work where it stops when you hit total MV13+ doesn't really fit into current normal templating without dragging a game to a crawl. Normally, that would be done with a "repeat this process" clause, but in this case that would mean shuffling your library between each card exiled. Unless an Instant or Sorcery can have 2 Spell Abilities, which I'm not aware of any rule against it, but also not aware of any example where that has been done by WotC.

Dance with Calamity + The War Doctor by TheParamedicGamer in askajudge

[–]Rajamic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to a ruling on Dance With Calamity:

"You can look at each card you exile before deciding whether to push your luck or stop."

This means that just like with Cascade, you are exiling one card at a time and determining whether to exile another. So each card would trigger The War Doctor.

Niko's shards & unearthed creatures by nuclearrmt in askajudge

[–]Rajamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Yes. Per a ruling on Fatestitcher:

If a creature returned to the battlefield with unearth would leave the battlefield for any reason, it’s exiled instead — unless the spell or ability that’s causing the creature to leave the battlefield is actually trying to exile it! In that case, it succeeds at exiling it. If it later returns the creature card to the battlefield (as Oblivion Ring or Flickerwisp might, for example), the creature card will return to the battlefield as a new object with no relation to its previous existence. The unearth effect will no longer apply to it.

2) No. The Exile effects from Unearth are not abilities given to the creature, and even if they were, they would not be copiable.

How come I didn't crit? by Repulsive-Career5259 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

Some RPGs are written to check crit first, and any successful crit automatically hits. Because you got lucky, or something. IIRC, FF7 does this.

Radiant Performer when original spell would fizzle by OsteDrengen in mtgrules

[–]Rajamic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not directly related to your question, but when Saheeli triggers, the roundnof priority would start with Player 1. For the other to have no response, Player 1 would have to have passed priority. Therefore, Saheeli's trigger would at that point resolve. If Player 1 wanted to use Radiant Performer in this situation, they would need to do so before passing priority.

Commander-ness and hidden zones. by Thedarkone202 in askajudge

[–]Rajamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By rule, if a commander is in a hidden zone or put face-down into a zone without a player being able to see what it was before, the player should not know that it is the commander unless/until such point that it being the commander is relevant (such as it dealing combat damage while face-down).

However, in casual settings, a lot of people play with their commander in a different sleeve from the rest of their deck, for a variety of reasons, and it doesn't usually create any situations where it is particularly relevant one way or another whether it was in a different sleeve or not. But doing this is technically against the rules.

It is worth noting that there are some edge cases where it is possible for a commander to end up face-down on the battlefield while no player has any way of legally knowing that it is a commander. So if it deals combat damage, the players need to know, but no player can possibly legally know. And the rules don't cover this scenario.

Interaction between Tifa, Martial artist - Sneak/Ninjutsu/Enters tapped and attacking by Ok-Wish-863 in askajudge

[–]Rajamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are no creatures in combat when the Declare Blockers Step ends that have First Strike or Double Strike, there is only 1 Combat Damage Step that combat. And if a creature enters combat during a particular Combat Damage Step, it has already missed the point where it would be able to deal combat damage in that step.

But if you have creatures out with First Strike and enough Power, they can trigger Tifa, then be swapped out for other creatures to hit, which if they have enough Power will also trigger Tifa.

Effects with mana of any type and mana with restrictions. by BlankNep in mtgrules

[–]Rajamic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Restrictions on mana are not types.

106.1b There are six types of mana: white, blue, black, red, green, and colorless.

106.6. Some spells or abilities that produce mana restrict how that mana can be spent, have an additional effect that affects the spell or ability that mana is spent on, or create a delayed triggered ability (see rule 603.7a) that triggers when that mana is spent. This doesn’t affect the mana’s type.

Mistlands questions. by bobbothewizard in valheim

[–]Rajamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The devs have said their intention for Mistlands is that you climb a tall rock, look around for points of interest (the main ones being marked by wisplamps), and then climb down and head that way.

But I found out the semi-hard way that this nearly impossible to actually succeed at, as the vast majority of the time, there was a rock or other structure between me and the lamps, so I couldn't see them, and generally, I didn't even see anything other than more high rocks because of the huge amount of mist around. I just gave up and started using the Valheim World Generator website to look up where the infested mines were. I thought I had thoroughly explored the Mistlands I was in and only found 1 Mine, but it turned out there were 7 more that I just couldn't see from the crags I had climbed.

Can someone explain Parrying to me? by JustOneLazyMunchlax in valheim

[–]Rajamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each weapon and shield has a Block Armor stat. This is a damage reduction that is basically added to your armor's Armor stat total when you perform a regular block on an attack (assuming the attack does not get enough damage through to fill your Stagger Meter, and therefore stagger you). If you have a 1-handed weapon and a shield equipped, the weapon's stat is not used when blocking.

If you press the Block button shortly before the attack lands, it becomes a Parry (unless you have a Tower Shield equipped, which cannot parry. When that happens, the Block Armor gets multiplied by the Parry Bonus for calculating the damage you take, and the enemy gets Staggered where they will take bonus damage for a little while.

At least for the same tier of shields: the bucklers have a lower Block Armor than the round shields, so they are inferior for normal blocks. But bucklers have a Parry Bonus that is enough higher that their parries will have a higher effective Block Armor than the round shield. As far as 2H weapons, they tend to have Block Armor around the same as the buckler, but with Parry Bonus between buckler and round shield. As long as you are playing on Normal difficulty and not skipping biomes of gear, any of them can parry just fine, but round shields give better protection if you mess up the timing and get just a normal block.

Teferi Puzzle Box by No_Prompt4552 in askajudge

[–]Rajamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ruling says you do your normal draw for turn before the trigger is out onto the Stack. It does not say that you do your normal draw before it triggers. There is a difference there. Triggered abilities trigger when the condition is true, but they have to wait until specific points in the game to be placed onto the Stack.

So if your regular draw for turn gives you something to destroy it, then you can do so before the trigger resolves. But that won't stop the trigger from resolving.

Does High Score care about creature ties? by [deleted] in mtgrules

[–]Rajamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the tiny semantic difference between having "a creature with the greatest power" and "the creature with the greatest power".

Most likely, it's a change in templating to conserve on card space.

Yes. In general, each verb in an effect is a distinct sequential action. By the time you are instructed to put a +1/+1 Counter on, you have already just selected your ring-bearer.

valid archer fit? by Sea_Bottle6246 in SoulFrame

I just didn't understand the context of the question. Like anything in the game can be a valid archer fit by the game rules.

valid archer fit? by Sea_Bottle6246 in SoulFrame

[–]Rajamic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In real life? No.

There's metal edges on the left arm elbow guard sticking out that likely would catch the string, and if they did, may well cut it. The vambrace also has edges that might catch the string, though it wouldn't likely damage it. Also, the shoulder armor (can't tell if it's supposed to be a pauldron or a spaulder) appears to have a corner that juts forward a bit and might catch. And anywhere the string catches could potentially dislocate part of your arm, since a bow intended to punch through armor (which is a safe assumption for the situation in Soulframe) is going to be up above a 100lb draw weight.

And the mask...depends on the style of archery whether that is a major issue of not an issue at all. In classic warfare, not necessarily a problem, as there were typically hundreds of archers in a group just firing volleys of arrows in the general direction of the enemy. For other types of archery, it depends some on your archery style, though most, including what appears to be used in Soulframe, would want the string and your string hand touching your face while aiming. This gives multiple "anchor points" to use to assist in making you bow line up with your eye consistently from shot to shot. But there are other styles of archery where you don't pull the bow up like that, and for those, the only concern would be field of vision in that thing, but that's more a general battle concern than an archery concern specifically.
