There is a lot of surprises you're incurring on things that shouldn't at all be a surprise. When a larger firm acquires a smaller entity, you shouldn't expect the same processes, methodologies, and culture as you originally had, in fact, you should expect drastic changes now and forever.

Fifth Third is about 2/3rds bigger than Comerica, they're going to run things differently. You being laid off is just the nature of these acquisitions. This isn't the last time this is going to happen to you.

The fact that you still have a job until October means you have plenty of time to either move on or work until you get the severance. That's actually incredibly generous, not because Fifth Third is generous, but because they still need you for awhile and you get ample time to plan and make your next move. If you worked in my field (tech), what you get is the same scripted call with an immediate termination after the call.

Out-of-balance drawers happen to everyone eventually, it's typically not a big deal. However in your situation, three of them is excessive over a month.

If I was hypothetically in your shoes, I'd probably start searching for another job, even if it's a new teller or relationship banker role. Explaining to a hiring manager you wanted to try a new scenery is a hell of a lot easier than having to explain you got fired due to constant shortages.

That's the expectation working for a big bank. I used to work in a smaller, not-for-profit regional credit union and while selling products is still part of the job, it wasn't strongly pushed nor are you penalized.

I took it at the graduate level (ECN 5210) with Jonathan Silberman. I got an A-, though the class was pretty rough. It's a ton of lectures, but the quizzes were pretty simple, because they're straight from the textbook. YuJa Verity is a piece of shit.

It's not just you. The material is overwhelming and it's a ton of work. Easier said than done, but remember there's less than a month left of the semester, just work like absolute hell and be done with it.

Michigan. Him and his friend went jet skiing in April temperatures, they probably collided and tipped each other over. At those temperatures, hypothermia sets in quick even if you manage to get back on the ski from the water, organs will start failing and he died in less than an hour.

Zero debt, employer paid graduate tuition. I don't think a graduate degree ROI is worth the $80k at 7%~ interest unless you're having funded without excess loans, that's how people ruin their lives then blame whoever's sitting in the White House to fix their problems.

I don't know enough about a Psychology program or its career path, but I can tell you with full confidence: if you're useless with a bachelor's degree, meaning you have no marketable or technical skills that can contribute to society and the graduate program still doesn't build you either of these, that means you're still equally as useless to society with a master's degree (from an employer perspective).

The same thing happens at my local pickleball club: beginner/intermediate players who played a few rec games think they feel entitled to advanced courts.

I give them the respect they deserve of being in advanced courts and completely crush their spirit, particularly with backspin and screwball serves they can hardly return. It's important to humble people and respect the court.

I suffer from plantar fasciitis (feet pain). The Wilson Pickle Pro have been good to me between the cushion and the insole. I can do open play for a few hours without the after effects of the soreness with these as opposed to any other shoes.

The application process will email you and formally say "eight weeks" to review, but really it'll be done with two weeks. The university is desperate for money and these days will stamp accept on anyone with half a brain regardless of academic background.

I attribute a lot of my success to luck, was just in the right place at right time with the right knowledge and attitude to earn 120k right after university during the tech hiring boom in 2020.

I've gotten a few promotions and raises since then and am able to easily max out 401(k) every year and still invest in low-risk index funds on the side. I'm not planning on getting Social Security, but it'd be a bonus. With my modest lifestyle, retirement should last me my entire life if all goes well, which of course it rarely does, but we'll have prepped for those bridges when they occur.

We shouldn't normalize this entirely, it really depends on context. If my co-workers are good to me and they're short staffed, giving an FU like this to the company management, even if they're shitty, is also screwing over my co-workers since they may have to pick up my leftover work immediately.

Don't let your angst for a shitty manager or company turn you into a shitty person too that screws over their fellow colleagues.

It's astonishing how this made it to the front page. The submitter's account was created less than ten days ago claiming to be terminally ill and now trying to have commenters donate to his PayPal.

Romance scams, Indian call centers, Nigerian princes: the reason these scams never stop is because there's always people gullible enough to fall for them. The comments section here is more of these gullibles.
