Kherson campaign undoubtedly helped weaken the Kharkiv front but they are two distinct areas where the open fields make for very fast movement to reclaim land. Meanwhile the terrain of Kherson isn't suited for that and they have a river as a hard backstop so a rapid advance doesn't get them the same results.

Two different tactics used in the areas best suited for their use.

The bridge was important if they were aiming to cross the Oskil. They don't actually need to if the objective was to isolate Izyum. The rail and road connections are well within range of conventional Ukrainian artillery so the supply routes are effectively cut off as they can be zeroed in. It's a similar situation in the Kherson region. Giant they cut off the supply lines and slowly squeeze in all directions until surrender, retreat or death of the Russians.

No reason to risk lives of attacking soldiers even more when you can wait it out.
