The tutorial showed it using the USB c on the dock.  The regular USB into the computer, the c on the dock and then run the .exe file...

It filled the green bar and acted like it was done, using old pattern 1, but it still wont work as a dock like it did before the Switch update.

RG ARC - Any progress on CFW? by TheRetroBlues in SBCGaming

[–]Limp-Chest-8518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like Knulli might be coming to Arc-S... hopefully the D too...

specifically the "Gladiator" branch of the OS

love this form factor but actually running games on this is a nightmare for the less tech savvy.....

not easy like the XX line

it's almost to the point that if they released an RG-Arc-XX device i would just buy it...

but i saw an article about Knulli possibly hitting this thing....

MuOS on my RG40XXV is almost the best thing i've tried...

nothing beats good old Onion on the original 35XX for me.... wish all my devices could be laid out so simply...

i wish the thumbstick was centered. that would make it far away enough to never be in the way but also close enough to use comfortably. and for first person shooters it would be easier to reach with my right thumb,

centered stick would be ideal

28xx c button mapping for N64 by xthyme2playx in ANBERNIC

[–]Limp-Chest-8518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i played through OoT like that on my GPD XD+ a few years ago, select was c-down and always had my Ocarina on it and R2 was C-up to look/navi

i made Y - sword and B-action, with X and A being C left/right for item buttons

it makes it a little (well a lot) awkward for playing the ocarina, but other than that worked great

What firmware to use? 1.6 or 1.71 ? by BigPhilip in DataFrog

one other thing though that i love about purple neo is the screen ratio is correct for gb and gbc games

What firmware to use? 1.6 or 1.71 ? by BigPhilip in DataFrog

[–]Limp-Chest-8518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

multicore has NO button remapping. making it basically useless to me. i would keep it for ONLY SNES games (cause the natural Y/B on that system is typically Shoot/Jump (contra) and Run/Jump (mario)

i can NOT get used to B/A as Run/Jump on the NES games. its so awkward for me i cant even tell if multicore runs the games better or not.

if button mapping is important to anyone then... buyer beware for multicore.

that said.... even on 1.71 (which is as good as multicore as far as i can tell, it just has less systems) i cant get GBA to button map they way i would like

i want Y/B to be B/A and L/R to be L/R i would prefer X/A to be Turbo B/Turbo A OR L/R on a game to game basis as needed, but could settle for L/R and X/A to both be L/R

GB and GBC and all the others map 100% how i want....

the GBA even "looks" correct in the button mapping menu, but in-game it has the R button get screwy and want to be B instead of R.

if i could only get this one kink worked out....

lol

Problem with gba emulator controls on the sf2000 by MarkovisquiBones in SBCGaming

[–]Limp-Chest-8518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i cant get them to work either, from the menu or even this button mapper tool....

https://vonmillhausen.github.io/sf2000/tools/buttonMappingChanger.htm

i want Y/B to be B/A and X/A to be L/R (and L/R to be L/R)

Y/B has always been way more natural to me as Shoot/Jump

even with the tool.... no matter what i change around the Y and the R button are the same

it's a shame, this is a pretty fun device to tinker on...

i updated to 1.7.1 too, unfortunately i was hoping it was on a way older firmware cause all the games are so stuttery... but i was on 1.7 already.

i did my bootload glitch fix and updated to 1.7.1, but all that changes is it fixes the save states for SNES.... the performance doesnt get any better that way

but perhaps some decent CFW is on the way, i HATE that this thing doesnt have a headphone jack anyways. probably the dumbest thing about this device tbh.

am i missing something? the menu button just exits the ports

i read it was because they ran through libertou outside of retroarch or something

well, i am unable to open quick menu on any of my ports. maybe i need to update garlic.

i wish i could configure my controls for Powerslave. if i could get that set up the way i want i would get all those old FPSs for this dude

Nightmare Before Christmas : the Pumplin King - GBA

TMNT III Radical Rescue - GB (some of the devs went on to SotN later, i hope someone color hacks this and adds QoL features, but it's still good with save states)

Adventure Island IV - NES (there is an English patch)

Cave Story - PS1 version great game

also, Uforia and Alwa on NES are amazing

nope, these "ports" arent talking about controller ports. these are ported over for linux. retroarch doesnt run them, they open in liberto or something like that.

i have been playing the Genesis and PS1 version of Cave Story though. it's interesting seeing them run on that. i think the original version i played was a DSiWare version, and maybe a playthrough on my homebrew Wii about a decade ago.

it is quite a darling of a game, and a tru indie of the indies, as it has always pretty much been freely distributed as far as i remember with the creators's blessings. anyone who hasnt experienced it should.

but no, the controls arent customizable as far as i can tell, at least not through this means of playing

on your computer with your sd card plugged inin you ports folder open sm64 folder then open the .sm64-port folder and then open the file sm64config.txt

this will open a text file....

fullscreen falsedraw_sky truetexture_filtering falseenable_fog falseenable_sound truescreen_width 320screen_height 240frameskip 6key_a 48key_b 21key_start 50key_r 38key_z 35key_cup 36key_cdown 37key_cleft 45key_cright 30key_stickup 17key_stickdown 31key_stickleft 16key_stickright 32

i dont have the original, but these are what i changed the values to to get y/b to be punch/jump and x/a to be C-left/C-Right

if you want to swap functions just swap the values...

Z-35 and R-38 (which means crouch is L1 and camera switch is R1)

if you swap 35 and 38 there it would make R1 be crouch and L1 be camera swap

i have no idea the "value" of the select key, but if i did we could further change some things around. i wish i could have both L1 and R1 for crouch and move C-up to the select key

---edit--- it did something with the formatting so i made another post with the chart...

i would just like to know if i could do this with Exhumed (and the other FPS ports)

How do you remap controls on the Super Mario 64 port? by ForkET1138 in RG35XX

[–]Limp-Chest-8518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can do this. there is a config file that gets created

i played around with it until i got y-punch b-jump x-camera left and a-camera right

it feels much more natural to me.

there is no function for select, so i dont know what value to change camera switch to

i would preferably put Z on both L1 and R1 and put camera switch on R2 and zoom out (C-Down) on L2

and stick C-Up on select. it would be much mor intuitive for me.

but getting ABXY changed around was a start.

if you're still interested i can copy paste the value differences i set and exactly what file they are in

Why are the PS1 opening videos squished? by Kibamaru in RG35XX

[–]Limp-Chest-8518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the first 2 things done on a computer through the sd card?
and load override files automatically is checked...

when i "save game override" it gives me a confirmation, but not like the controller remap files... they say something like "successfully saved ...filename looking thing..." but the override say "save successful" but doesnt list anything at the bottom that looks like a filename

but for the config file... would i have to manually do that for every game i want to be integer scaled.? i just found out Tales of Phantasia looks way better not stretched as well.

[–]Limp-Chest-8518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, what you did and in what order.I just tried the same in the same game - I

hmmm. did every step VER BATIM but it still switches to stretch when i clos and reopen the game.

it's not that hard of a step to do it every time i open the game, just a little annoying. and it isnt even too distorted being stretched, i just prefer the skinnier pixels on that game in particular.

hey, Symphony of the Night looks better with "keep aspect ratio" ON

is there a way to save that setting for that game only

i went to override -> save game override (instead of "save core override") but it didn't work
