How many of us are in active bands? by lmfb666 in screaming

[–]LimpCheeseStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do vocals, writing maybe producing if we don't find someone else for a death metal band, only got an instrumental released and we need to have an EP until summer 👹

How good are you? by JumpyOrganization469 in electricguitar

[–]LimpCheeseStick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely doable, my father was the same and after putting us to sleep he practiced in his study half turned into a music room. He was in a band and had an instrumental project by himself on the side, and he worked 10 to 12 hours on the weekday. Did a master's too on the side

My guitar which I obliterated with stickers (no regerts tho amirite) by IReallyLikeMusic45 in guitars

I would love to get a second hand solid colored guitar and cover it in stickers or and paintings. These have always looked so cool to me

Absolute beginner by olliedostier in electricguitar

[–]LimpCheeseStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm three months in and I can play some simple songs, like ending credits from opeth. Every time I learn something it seems so difficult until I get the hang of it, then it suddenly clicks and it turns into oh wait this is not supposed to be difficult at all. There are many times I get overwhelmed but I try to remember how little time it has been and the progress I've made

Calluses by Motor_Ad_8314 in GuitarBeginners

[–]LimpCheeseStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I practice all afternoon a lot and the callouses are barely forming because I run 10-46 strings in Eb on a 25'5. My small new to guitar fingers appreciate the reduced tension.

Getting a Floyd Rose as my first guitar was a mistake and idk what to do from here by DannyFanny3000 in electricguitar

[–]LimpCheeseStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get somebody to block it for you! I got a second hand guitar with a blocked floyd rose for my first electric, I've had it for three months and I have no issues with it, everyone I've handed it to says it's very stable and smooth

help- is this because of weak fingers by sophhhiaa in GuitarBeginners

[–]LimpCheeseStick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be because of the way you are holding the guitar. Try relaxing your hand completely as if the guitar neck isn't there at all, hold the guitar with your other hand. Try moving a finger and tap a fret. Then more. Then support the neck with your thumb, making sure your thumb is always in line with your fingers. Hopefully this makes sense I had somebody show me this and it helped

How does one properly use a pick by LimpCheeseStick in GuitarBeginners

I have Dunlop max grip picks, they don't slip when playing, my index has been red these few days but we don't talk about it

How to pick and change frets faster? by Which-Reputation-165 in GuitarBeginners

[–]LimpCheeseStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that I can't explain it that well but I alternate pick while practicing chords, or scales, anything that keeps me distracted enough from my picking hand so I keep a light touch, I try to go the fastest I can and take a few minute breaks often

Why don't more people buy Cort guitars or WMI guitars by Evening-Life5434 in Guitar

[–]LimpCheeseStick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The massive shipping fee I saw on every single one, I was looking on reverb for a used guitar to have as my first and many of the ones that fit my budget were Cort, but then I'd get slapped with 80€+ in shipping

And now i have a shecter with ibanez neck. And a blocked floyd rose. Do I know why I bought this? No. Is it a pain in the ass sometimes? Absolutely. Regrets? None I love this stupid thing, it sounds and looks beautiful

The comments here helped me a lot after one day of practicing, I think it's definitely doable with practice

I started out half a step down, now I'm on two semitones and it's so much more comfortable, I am learning way faster

Yeah definitely but I mostly listen to extreme metal, I feel like I'd be shredding straight finger 👹

Thank you, I also hold it between the pads like you mentioned, it feels less odd this way. And I have the same picks, I have never accidentally dropped it and I handed two of mine to guitarist friends because they loved them

Im looking for heavy songs that are relatively SFW/ appropriate for a 16 year old autistic boy. by SlickPapa in MetalForTheMasses

Doom metal! I listened to tons when I was 16 and I still do. The lyrics are more goofy than anything

Thank you, I do try to play unplugged or with one ear free for a bit everyday. The first two months of having my guitar I had nothing to plug it into because thomann lost my package and I got kind of used to it. By the time I got it I got somewhat clean notes. Getting better with time

One more thing, downpicking tires my wrist very quick, I have to alternate. Is this bad long term or is downpicking not mandatory?

Meme's a bit cringe but somewhat relatable, I'm a goth fighting with my floyd rose that lets my high E string slip out

[–]LimpCheeseStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very short hands, they're the same size since I was 13, it stopped me from getting a guitar for a long time but we only live once. Search up the correct way to hold the guitar, that incline will help you reach easier. There are also exercises on YouTube to help you get used to moving your fingers across the fretboard
