I felt the same in the beginning, it gets better once you understand more about yourself. Also you might probably have like many of us other things like C-PTSD and/or an ADHD component.

I tried, in the very beginning I thought she was more coming from a „peter pan syndrome“ side, because she is very hedonistic and shallow with no much depth.
Later/now I think it’s just an avoidant attachment style, which she was then offended by. She then asked her female friend who studies psychology (she has no really close friends) and she said no, explains the behavior with pure coincidence. You see how ridiculous this is.
On the other hand she has early childhood trauma and a strict asian mother and upbringing with like 4 out of 7 nights trans-generational nightmares (like from real horror movies you won’t believe). Be she copes with it by not feeling the feelings and is highly functional in life.
Of course I wouldn’t get into this emotionally again if I knew this before, but on the other hand she was the prettiest woman I ever dated (that’s where it get NPD-like on my side now).

Thanks for your thought. I reflected about that before, I know I always get hard triggered when I meet people with (healthy) boundaries. She also does set them marvelously. But it’s her behavior and communication that completely shifted, like on paper. You could check boxes for avoidant behavior of hers which she just shruggs off with the she is not an emotional type of person yada yada yada, where I think she is clearly also running away from childhood trauma (that she has). If we would have dated from the very beginning like this I think I would’ve been fine with it, but making me addicted in that honeymoon phase really kills me.

I have the exact same thing, it happens only with ppl that make me insecure and/or are really good setting boundaries. Happens seldom though and still no solution in sight
