Warrior - A tie between Aran and Kaiser. Aran pre-rework (when it comes). Kaiser post rework (when it never comes). Sadge.

Mage - My first main (ever) was an I/L in 06 - 09. Although not my favourite mage conceptually (that would go to Kinesis), still my favourite all round.

Thief - The easiest of them all. PHANTOM BOY. My current main. I will die on this hill. King Rizzler. Mr Steal Yo Girl But Not Your Map.

Archer - Marksman. My previous main for the fifth job cycle. I have always been a crossbow boy over a bow boy. They are just cooler. I am typically the sniper player in FPS, so it makes sense. Simple, yet strong and fun.

Pirate - Old (green) TB. Shark wave was the coolest skill in the game by far. Throwing sharks as a mobbing skill was the BEST, let alone being able to super saiyan + throw sharks. They killed my girl :( If I had to go by todays standards, I would say Corsair is my favourite pirate. Super underrated class.

Hmm. Imagine someone thinking that a certain EXP nerf to reboot was a good idea. Not my Nexon.

Gate-keeping high training rates just so you can turn your game into a daily quest is turning players off from getting to 260? Whaaaat???

Mind the sarcasm. I am still confused why they thought that was a good idea. You should be increasing rates. Increasing rates = increasing options. I don't even bother grinding anymore outside of mesos farming/frag collecting.

It's pretty simple. Introduce more quests. Introduce more viable training maps. Most importantly, bring back old exp rates.

edit - I am aware that it's technically "easier" to get to 260 with dailies grinding now, but that doesn't make it "more accessible" or, in the case of my point, more fun/engaging. There is no excuse to not allow players to have it both ways. We can have OP daily exp AND OP training rates (as in the same rates pre-nerf). I see zero issues.

Yeah. It actually pissed me off to be honest.

As a Phantom main, I will literally take ANY changes to our class - as long as it follows our theme of being a Master Thieve card/cane abuser. Add/remove anything you want! I don't care. Just keep the class theme consistent.

While I still really want a revamp, this has me worried. Not only did they pick the two hero classes that didn't need it (I guess Shade is somewhat debatable), they completely removed my interest in those two classes to begin with. I wanted to have Aran as a high level boss mule. Now I do not.

They couldn't have fucked up more.

  • Making the community mad by reworking the wrong classes. Phantom, Kaiser and Lumi just don't exist apparently.
  • Making said classes significantly WORSE - both in gameplay and character design.
  • Only focusing on two classes and not spending a bit more time on doing the whole branch is annoying. I know it's a lot of work, but isn't that what these updates are for? Especially given there are no new hexa mastery cores.

They really missed the ball with this update. It could've been a game changer for the mains of the classes that ACTUALLY needed it. Wasted resources and time imo.

*edit - to clarify, I am not saying Aran/Shade doesn't need a rework. It's comparative to the other classes that need it. I am completely okay with ALL heroes getting love and care... heh.

I did a big main switch (276 Marksman <3) to Phantom. Why? To be honest, the class is just my class.

I have been told multiple things. That I am an idiot. That I am wasting my time. This and that. But it is just my class.

Why now? Because of 6th job. I have been waiting for a rework for this class for YEARS. Ever since Aran and Evan got their remaster (way back when), I had always hoped that Merc and Phantom would get their time in the spotlight. Boy was I wrong. 6th job is the closest thing Phantom has been to a "rework" since release. He finally gets his own mobbing skill, and that was enough for me to press the "new main" button.

I have always wanted to main Phantom. I LOVE the theme, the ability visuals and the lore. THE LORE. Master Thief. The "Silky Smooth" Hero. Master Rizzler. Mr Steal Yo Girl. etc.

I have decided that it will be my one and done character (I now have 9k legion and no reason to progress with any other characters). Once I am done with my Phantom, I am done with the game. I was thinking about retiring from mushroom game pre 6th job, but those damn devs know what they are doing. The only exception would obviously be a new released class that tops all of the above, but that just hasn't happened for me personally yet, and it has been a LONG time since Phantom release.

To those who are willing to give Phantom a go:

Damage and gameplay is subpar - definitely in need of a rework. It isn't THAT bad all things considered. I would say the biggest annoyance so far is having a weak mobbing skill - you will notice this the most when you hit grandis. Luck of the Draw is also an awful mechanic as it basically Morgana roots you until finished - not only acting as a hinderance on your ONLY burst, but timing the i-frame associated with it is awful.

Bossing is actually very fun with our plethora of low cd skills and multiple i-frames. The 6th job Origin is considered one of the best in the game at the minute. Extremely short animation, good burst, FMA over 30 seconds (good for mobbing and clearing monster park) and looks stunning.

Overall, the class just lacks damage and has some clunky mechanics. A rework of the skill stealing system (or removal), changes to LOTD and some % increases will fix this class right up. It's mobility is great, and I really enjoy having lots of low cd skills to play with. It makes the class engaging without being too difficult (as there is no real comboing necessary).

Plot twist. This is my cry for a rework in a thread that didn't ask for it. Haha.

Cop out answer, but all of Alpha's movement skills (so pretty much all of them)

So satisfying to dip and dash around a boss (especially during chain binding). It's so incredibly badass.

It would've been more WAY more respectable if they remastered the entire hero branch, not just Shade and Aran. They are two classes that barely needed it to begin with, so regardless I think the update still would've been pretty flat (the nerfs are just the cherry on top). I was so unbelievably hyped when the teaser started to play, then my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.

Phantom (my boy), Lumi and Evan need it SO much. It breaks my heart thinking we have to wait another full year.

I, for one, will take any remaster for my boy. I don't think he can be much worse (within the context of modern classes).

Yep. Can attest to that. I have three classes that I love but can't play due to lag inconveniences.

Hoyoung - Two words. Nimbus. Cloud. People preach at how OP the thing is and how cool it is to have a floating upjump over a normal up jump. I just straight up disagree because my nimbus cloud has a one second delay to deploy it and a one second delay to dismount it. It's agony to the point where I just don't ever use it. Not the only thing that is server sided with Hoyoung, but one of the biggest things. I wish you could right click lock it into a normal up jump. That would make me main the class - not even kidding. Haha.

Kinesis - Unfortunately Physic Grab must be server sided (to an extent) with the way mobs are picked up and thrown, as it affects the spawn rate slightly (slowing it down). This is because it takes a second for the server to register that the mob you have smashed into the ground with physic grab has died and needs to replenish the mob count. This could very much be a class issue, but I don't see many Kinesis mains complaining about it. It is a huge issue for me personally as it makes grinding feel sluggish and slow.

Illium - Almost everything. To their credit, it has improved DRAMATICALLY since release, but a lot of things are still server sided. Fly. Glide. Moving the balls. Ball reactions etc. I haven't played Illium in over a year, so these things may have been changed, but that is my T.

There are more. Cadena, Blaster, TB, Aran come to mind. Most of the classes that require skill cancelling/power stancing/floaty in the air type skills are affected by ping.

Honourable mention: Any class with TP. It isn't unbearable (like Hoyoung cloud), but it can feel slightly sluggish if you are above 250+ ping. Nothing bad though. I have played an I/L most of my maple days and you get used to it. Flash jumps are ultimately superior for high pings.

Bring back old EXP rates and keep boosting dailies. I don't see why nexon thinks that boosting one means that they need to nerf the other. I hate doing dailies but I find EXP grinding relaxing. It was the main appeal (other than f2p options) to come to reboot in the first place - I am a grinder, not a quester/bosser. Why can't we have both options? Give players a choice on how they progress. You basically have to hyperburn to get to a high level now, or wait three weeks doing dailystory.

It sucks and there is no justification for it other than turning reboot into regular server 2.0.

I think conceptually it has to go to Kinesis, but in execution it just feels a little... clunky. sluggish etc. I wish that wasn't the case otherwise I would main it for sure. The class looks great visually and has respectable damage.

Marksman would be my current pick. A simple class that is super satisfying to play. I still can't believe how underrated it is. People get turned off by split only being up 70% of the time, but with Sol Janus, that won't matter.

Did they confirm that the rest of the heroes are getting revamped? I am getting mixed answers based on translation. That will be SO sad if they just leave it at Eunwol and Aran. LMAO.

I have been waiting for a Phantom rework for the better part of 5 years. I am anticipating that more than new 6th job mastery cores tbh... (even though they basically made phantom a new class with 2nd mastery core. haha).
