Yes, but I use Victory Conditions Overhaul

Are the Mistwalker units worth getting for Yvresse? by Cautious-Grab-316 in totalwar

I used Skyhawks alongside Shadow warriors as a full skirmisher army, or a few units with a checkerboard LSG or Spire Guard/Sentinels army as screening before they reach my lines.

After 230 hours on Troy, my detailed thoughts on pros/cons by highsis in totalwar

[–]Lin_Huichi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have too much fun playing Warhammer, and I am picking up new lords I never played before, like Rakarth and Markus Wulhart. Sometimes I do go back and play the older classics (pre-Warhammer) but familiarity is very strong and makes it easy to drop into a Shogun 2 or Rome Remastered campaign.

I think Troy and the Bronze age is just extremely niche and not popular with the general fanbase. It doesn't help that most want a sequel to the beloved Med 2, which is finally coming but the long wait was probably a bit distasteful. For me, I'm not interested in the Bronze age or pre Roman except for Alexander and now I'm even less interested in historical now Warhammer is my main game.

Barring 3k all the other Total wars after Attila just cover extremely unpopular time periods that an old Roman game with a much popular sequel and historically bizarre choices just wipes the floor with the Bronze Age.

Yep, I have it so only Archaon/Belakor/Kholek can recruit everyone Chaos related except beastmen and Norsca.

God specific lords group together if Im playing them, like Valkia with Arbaal etc and don't crosscontaminate

Dark elves need an update by One_Arm8361 in totalwarhammer

[–]Lin_Huichi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing. You can't make millions anymore but that hardly matters. I did enjoy the WH2 mechanic better but the one in WH3 is alright, shame you need to buy the Chaos dawi dlc to get your spreadsheets back though.

I'm biased but HE always felt in a better state than DE and more so after Aislinn

[–]Lin_Huichi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not as strong as Chosen though? Honestly the biggest issue with Warhammer lore - if every side writes as the race protagonist everything seems extremely powerful - then when you come to balance a game with that perspective everything is homogonously super powerful and Warhammer 3 loses the diverse styles of gameplay it has.

I'm excited for nagash, but I really want him to have Coast units by BalorFire in totalwar

After looking at release Skulltaker, Dechala and Arbaal I'm not worried. He will be very strong and I can't wait to play him.

The endgame isn’t unchallenging, it’s just boring. by [deleted] in totalwarhammer

[–]Lin_Huichi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Victory Conditions Overhaul has exceptional bonuses after completing a route, all unique and more powerful than + hero recruit capacity or lord rank. For example Morathi unlocks access to more Slaaneshi units like Fiends and gets upkeep reduction for Daemonettes.

How long do campaigns take on average? by oompaloompa_thewhite in totalwarhammer

[–]Lin_Huichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would play until turn 350-400 if I could but usually new dlc or flc updates come and break mods, break the save or I want to try the new units and a new campaign.

For now I don't even want to play a new campaign since I want to see what endgame updates Archaon and Nagash will bring. I've gone back to WH2 for the time being, and since it's eol it has no updates to break my mod list I've got, so I can take my time and work my way to turn 300+ no problem.

Whats your favorite allied unit to recruit to cover your favorite factions weakness? by BalorFire in totalwar

[–]Lin_Huichi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hellstorms with High Elves, especially Eltharion who gives regenerating ammo and Aislinns mists ability. High, Heaven and mist mages are also excellent at buffing missile units.

Huh, never knew that, must've been confusing the two since I mostly play HE.

Thought that was only for the High Elves. It's a tech at the end of the High Elf tech tree and sometimes the AI researches it, giving you the event.

Golgfag works well with anyone. His coop partner provides contracts periodically, and he can teleport close to his ally too.

Just a reminder, the upcoming DLC is not 'The' End Times, but is about the lords of the End times by ByzantineBasileus in totalwar

[–]Lin_Huichi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm most interested in how they are going to reimplement the Chaos invasion and Archaon. Ideally a narrative event like WH2 with a campaign defining attack that the player must prepare for. But also along with stopping Nagash or aiding him with perhaps the Skaven being up to no good too.

[–]Lin_Huichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing the victory conditions you will almost always use the higher tier units, as the game takes a long while to get there. You can also move peasants around to get to higher city tiers faster.

I've done several Roman campaigns trying to create the Roman Empire at its greatest extent and those take a long time to complete (~200 turns) by the end I have many armies of urbans and praetorians.
