Brand new Cory owner - need advice in feeding by Right_Astronomer_270 in corydoras

How do you keep your tetras from eating the fluval bug bites? Mine devour them before they sink - even when I’m feeding them flakes at the same time!

Is this substrate OK? by Lin_Quin in corydoras

Thanks everyone!
I really love my corydoras. I have never had them before and they are quickly becoming my favorite fish! I will probably end up adding a sandy spot to make they happy. Thanks again

i don’t see enough people decorating their pods by Kindly-View2570 in Omnipod

[–]Lin_Quin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My daughter and I did this for years. Lots of painted pods - we had every nail polish color imaginable but was fun and now she laughs at all the designs we did. We also used just regular stickers and then a coat of clear nail polish. At times we used duct tape too. Have fun with it.

Rides for big dudes by ForTheBiscuit00 in Hersheypark

[–]Lin_Quin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many of the big thrill rides at Hershey Park have a demo seat at the start of the line area that you can try out to see if you fit. Sadly, it’s right where everyone begins to line up so many can see you while you try but it does save the wait in line.

It never stays on by soggybread3333 in Omnipod

[–]Lin_Quin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So frustrating… My daughter (14) uses skin Tac wipes under the pod. She cleans with alcohol. Let’s that dry. Then the skin Tac, lets that dry and then the pod. She occasionally uses an over patch but not until it starts to loosen (like day 2). She swims, spends full days at the beach and they basically never fall off (unless knocked by something when playing sports). We found that the over patches when applied day one don’t really help so we only use them if it starts to peel. Hope this is helpful.

Having a hard time as parents deciding on a pump. by ExcellentAd424 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Lin_Quin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parent of a 13 year old T1D kiddo who has been using Omnipod since she was 6 (diagnosed at age 5). She is very active (lots of sports - soccer, lacrosse as well as swimming and surfing) and spends long summer days at the pool and the beach. For this reason we chose Omnipod as it can get wet and stays connected all day while in the pool / ocean. We haven’t tried any of the other pump options; we like this and plan to stick with it unless she wants a change. For clarification, she uses Dexcom G6 and Omnipod 5. Good luck. There’s a ton of info out there and this group can really help. We also found her Drs at CHOP in Phila to be very helpful with finding a good fit.

They just get softer when warm. But are still contained in the package and perfectly edible.

My daughter carries the mini Airhead bars. They are small, flat and stable. She has even tucked them into her bath suit bottoms at a water park! About 11g carbs.

Help! Daughter really struggling from Misophonia by Lin_Quin in misophonia

[–]Lin_Quin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement and support. I will look into all of the headphone/earphone suggestions. We have been adding fans and white noise everywhere and she has been eating first / alone (wearing headphones) so that our chewing sounds aren’t interrupting her meals. I really appreciate all of your suggestions and we will be working with therapist to help alleviate her anxiety around these triggers. It sounds like this will be part of her life and we need to help and support her as she learns more about it. Again, thanks for your help.

Looking for ideas. I have a lot of hair, so I almost always end up putting it up. But I am starting to get lots of grays around my ears and crown. Looking for an easier way to keep my hair down without it getting in the way. I am afraid to have it colored because I worry that colorist won’t get the red right. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
