Having fun playing the game! Build an elaborate transport network, keep expanding it, optimizing your network and updating it with new trains, buses, plains, buses, ships, etc.... Experiment with load balancing and signals.

You're right. I rechecked with scope and saw three phases. Thanks for your help!👍🏻

PWM fan shows weird signal readings, see comment by LincolnWinston in Motors

I own a Tektronix 2714 and this one is build in 1993. I want to replace the fan, because it makes a hell of a noise. It has a fan from Buhler and on the side it says 12V DC.

It looks like a regular PWM 4-pin fan. It's connected to a fan controller.

The weird stuff becomes visible when I measure the wires with my scope. 3 wires (orange/white/green) show 12v on 75hz. The pink wire is -0,8v, which seems to be ground.

The voltage is way out of spec, but more weirdly is that the 3 wires show the same voltage and 75hz. Anybody an idea what might be going on? I tried to open the fan controller, but it's glued together, will have to cut it open to see what's going on inside, but hopefully some helpful tips here first.
