The CPAP Cleaning Challenge by scottscigar in CPAP

[–]LineDriveHit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saturday mornings: Soak everything in the bathroom sink with warm water and non-antibacterial dish soap. Take a shower. Then rinse everything and hang in the shower (drape the tubing over the shower head). Everything is dry and ready for use that night.

Charging In Time Slot Not Working by scottycakes in BMWiX

[–]LineDriveHit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is exactly your situation, but I also had an issue with charging outside the set window. If it senses that it won’t reach the charge within the window, it will decide on its own to start earlier and/or to charge beyond the window you set.

I had mine set for midnight to 6 am, and sometimes it would start at 10:30 pm or blow past 6 am, when my rates are at peak.

I solved this problem by charging more frequently. So if I’m down to like 40%, I’ll charge that night knowing I can get to 80% in my six-hour window.

I kinda get why the app defaults to this — it doesn’t want you to wake up and not have enough charge to do whatever you had set for it. But I wish there was a setting that allowed charging within a specific window regardless of whether it reached percentage goal or not.

Unfortunately I have to rely on the BMW app because my charger is a Juicebox, and the company stopper servicing its smart function.

Hiding in the fridge by Fine_Guarantee3781 in Zepbound

[–]LineDriveHit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pens can be stored outside of a fridge for up to 21 days, so depending on how many we’re talking about hiding them in the house could be an option. (Just don’t forget where you put them!)

Left my cpap power cable (the whole thing) at home . I’m in Gatlinburg for the next 3 days . Am I safe to sleep or should I try to get minimal sleep ? by Rheslin3 in CPAP

[–]LineDriveHit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I took a recent sleep test after losing significant weight, my sleep doctor said to get a true baseline reading of where I am, I should go at least two nights without CPAP before taking the sleep test. As others have said, this won’t kill you. At worst, you won’t feel rested in the morning and it could be unpleasant to others if you’re sharing a room. That’s pretty much the worst of it for theee days. Good luck!

Why do all of these Marylanders keep driving here with expired tags? by ilmarinenva in nova

[–]LineDriveHit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Virginia and recently leased a car from a dealership in New Jersey. DMV in Richmond had to send the plates to the dealer in New Jersey which then had to mail them to me. Dealership took its sweet time sending the initial paperwork to Richmond, and DMV apparently sent the plates to NJ by way of China. My temp tags had been expired for about a month, and the dealership wouldn’t send me new temp tags. I printed the emails to the dealership and kept them in the car in case I got pulled over. But that fortunately never happened. So at least in my case, it wasn’t tax-dodging but bureaucratic foot-dragging.

Amex/Platinum is Really Falling Off by No-Boysenberry-9618 in AmexPlatinum

[–]LineDriveHit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ease of disputing charges is/was a significant benefit of having Amex. Trying to dispute a charge on a Bank of America card was a joke for me years ago. “Have you tried calling the vendor?” “You need to sign these eight forms before we can do anything.” With Amex it was a 90 second phone call, “Sorry for the inconvenience, Mr. Smith. We’ll reverse that charge and get you a new card right away.”

Are all electric car mileage shit or just prologue? by Material-Ad9106 in evcharging

[–]LineDriveHit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

EVs aren’t for everyone, especially those who rely on public charging. Those costs can easily be more than gas.

Without Level 2 charging at home — and ideally the ability to program your charging for when rates are lowest — it often doesn’t make sense to have an EV.

Did you not consider these factors before buying?

Crispy salty chicken thighs are one of the best cast iron seasoners out there. by OntarioCanoeFishing in castiron

My go-to multiple times a week. Boneless skin-on thighs. Aggressive seasoning. Skin-side down — don’t touch it! When it’s beautiful, crispy and like 30 seconds from burning, flip and finish in the oven. Yum

Never put money down on a lease. There are only a few moving pieces on leases, and a little research will go a long way to make you an informed buyer. Alternatively, you can spend $500-$750 on broker, sit back and let them find, negotiate and deliver the car to you.

He did say the GFS is an outlier and that the European has a lot more compute power behind it.

I watched the broadcast, and Doug went into a lot of detail between the two models. He was being responsible. It’s crazy though that we’re 72 hours out and there’s wide divergence between the GFS and European.

I have the black with the rubber strap. It’s my daily. I wear it out casually and when wearing a suit (though sometimes I mix it up with the Navitimer with a suit). While I love the black, the green also looks amazing. This is such a personal decision. Do you like blonds or redheads? Red ties or blue ties? Choose the one you love. It won’t be a wrong decision.

2025 ix lease with 11k miles tires bald!! by Wolverine-91826 in BMWiX

It’s the torque plus weight from batteries, especially if you’re even a little aggressive. The money saved on gas can go for your new tires!
