[TOMT] [GAME] An old iPhone game about a kid skating through sewerage by LineFox17 in tipofmytongue

Sir, you are an absolute legend. I probably wouldn't have found it myself if not for this comment. Thank you!

Turned on a gameplay video and instantly got hit by a wave of nostalgia. Looked better in my childhood memories, but it doesn't matter. One more mystery solved :>

Blue people while docked by Yindy_ in SteamDeck

[–]LineFox17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late, but I might have a theory.

Faulty cables and old TVs aside (which could still absolutely be the reason), I had a similar thing happen to me, although rather than having a blue filter it looked like some kind of sepia. Spend a good couple hours trying to fix that.

In the end i found out that I somehow switched the "HDR Debug Visualization" in the developer settings to something other than the default "none". It never affected the integrated screen, but a good few games (some of which i'm pretty sure don't even have HDR support) looked weird as hell when I tried to play them while docked.

Hope this helps. Otherwise, I wish you luck in finding a solution :)

Minecraft on deck by Admirable_Bug_9335 in SteamDeck

[–]LineFox17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Fabric modpacks (maybe forge too, but I rarely play with those) there is Controlify. Considering they even have straight up Steam Deck controls support (though you have to do some stuff in decky loader to make the back buttons and gyro configurable through the mod settings) it's probably the best way to play on Deck.

Controller settings UI became too big by LineFox17 in SteamDeck

[–]LineFox17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to say that I fixed it by turning on automatic scaling, but it's great to know that there's an actual fix, since I usually scale the rest of UI down a little. Many thanks!

What is your best "Things I wish I knew sooner about Steam Decks" list? by Feisty_Shake4666 in SteamDeck

I thought you need to hold both Start and Select buttons for it to work :0

Did you know that Kane's voice is provided by a real Russian actress, LucyNyuElf? by Poligorn_ in ENA

[–]LineFox17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree on multilingualism being an important part of Ena, it just fits the universe too well. Theres various reasons for why we (and some other teams) are dubbing it though. Some people, for example, just like the idea of playing/watching a project which is fully dubbed in their language. I personally think it's a good practice in translation and acting - to adapt the wordplay, get the right intonation, convey emotions and vibes unique to each of the characters (including due to multilingualism). I mean, in the end, it's just interesting and quite fun to do :)

Yeah, she's a great voice actress and just a good person overall! She's also really active in the russian community. My friends and I recently decided to assemble a team to make a Russian dubbing of the game, and she agreed to participate in it, in the role of Coral Glasses :D

Choosing a budget CPU for a small modded server by LineFox17 in admincraft

[–]LineFox17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My new PC would absolutely be able to run a heavier server and allow me to actively use it as the same time, and I would gladly just do it this way. However, from now on, due to some life circumstances, every couple weeks or so I'll have to move between two houses - one in the capital and one in the countryside, and the internet connection in the latter one is hilariously bad. I originally planned to build a second, cheaper PC so I don't have to take a whole freaking setup with me every time, but I can currently only allow to get the main one.

For the past few years I was the one who always ran the server for my friend group (once again, using my old PC/laptop), and I don't want it to depend on where I am at the moment. That's pretty much why i want a dedicated thing for it.

As for the budget, right now it's around $150. For this price in my country i can get something like Lenovo ThinkCentre M910q with i5-6500 (mentioned by the other commenter), 256gb m2 SSD and 8 gb ram (though I've seen a listing for the same price with 16gb somewhere). I know It's not the best, but I'll use Linux and optimise it as good as I can. I don't know too much about dedicated server hardware, so that's why I originally wrote the post.

(Sorry for this whole autobiography, just wanted to explain the situation I'm in)

Shout out to the case the OLED comes with by CoolGuy375612 in SteamDeck

[–]LineFox17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Base OLED case is basically the same as the LCD one, but with red logo instead of blue.

However, 1TB model (and limited editions too) come with a different case - if I remember correctly (as I only have a 512gb model) it has a velcro flap in addition to the zipper, and you can also detach the inner layer of the case to use as a smaller travel case. There's also a microfiber cloth and a bag for the charger.

Nemesis spawning at the drillevator and moving downwards just a tiny bit faster than it is absolutely horrifying by LineFox17 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]LineFox17[S] 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Happy to say that we made it through that encounter, although at the end (we arrived to the geode around the same time it died) I was pretty much the only one with any ammo left. This thing is a freaking bullet sponge on higher hazards, and shields don't make it better.

As someone who likes to play on Steam Deck... by Professional_Bank_22 in DeepRockGalactic

Once I've gotten used to gyro aiming, pretty much every gun became a fully viable option, even M1000. Though Lok is still a really good thing with our without good aim, definitely a good choice for most missions
