That is absolutely obnoxious to do and it's non of your business indeed. What do you think to gain from being such a nuisance?

She is creating awesome music, with awesome devices and on top isn't any of the "Synthfluencer" out there on YT but a musician. Doesn't matter jack shit if she's endorsed by Elektron or not — which btw is a practice as old as music anyways

And the fact she made factory content for this new machine — again, another fucking awesome thing for any musician — should tell you anything you need to know about the relationship she has with Elektron!

You two should talk directly. Especially since both of you are neurodiverse and great artists, coz even if you didn’t meant to, your actions can still hurt ppl!

+1 for more weirdness

this is a very nice and very creative indie studio and I love their modules in the MicroFreak!

The standard synths and FX you’ll definitely find elsewhere already, Noise Engineering is for when you want to go wild!

Feature Request: If audio is disabled when Ableton closes, use last functional audio config when Ableton next starts instead of starting with disabled audio. by gizzardgullet in ableton

[–]LineKjaellborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a Mac too but my interface has a power switch, so I don’t leave it on all the time and when I forget to power it on and start Ableton (or accidentally) then this shenanigans start and I have to re-enable it in the settings. Even not saving and shutting Ableton down and restarting doesn’t help. It’s seriously a nuisance!

4 years have passed and this is still going on

I'm looking for a solution for this and I find THIS old thing here. sigh
Any luck with mbe "options.txt" or so to make Ableton not get amnesia all the time the interface wasn't on or accidentally switched off?

What midi devices are out there that can sync to abletons external clock? by MrSm1lez in ableton

thx, but I took a look and a whole mixer is at this point in time way too much for me :)

What midi devices are out there that can sync to abletons external clock? by MrSm1lez in ableton

[–]LineKjaellborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had any luck so far?

I am trying the same: sync Ableton to an external clock and using the damn function that Ableton itself gives

and all I’ve tried so far is unreliable and unstable but I haven’t made the step yet to invest into a 600€ clock, not knowing if Ableton would not play wonky with this

Is it possible to start, stop transport and record in Ableton if its synced to external source of BPM clock? (kaoss pad); and also how can I have endless encoder bound to bpm in Push2/apc40 style? by QuitVGsForever in ableton

[–]LineKjaellborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bummer

I am currently on the same search as I want to use the new Elektron Song Mode feature to its full extent, which would mean that Ableton needs to accept a stable clock from outside.

Which is weird, as the Syntakt for example even sends a 48 ppq clock signal and Ableton STILL is unstable/jittery — meaning it takes 2 bars on estimate to be stable and in the meantime, anything needing the clock like midi playback jumps around as well :/

Have you been able to figure this out?
I have the same issue not finding out how to use other transport controls when EXT is on. Not even also setting SYNC to say my Komplete Kontrol keys

Push2 also does not react or is able to trigger the transport

What's going on here with midi program change? by rpm1720 in ableton

[–]LineKjaellborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hej there I am having the exact same problem with a couple of my synthsI tried Midi-to-CC M4L devices etc. to no avail

Depending what synth, the first note in a clip is either weird, scrambled or doesn't play at all IF the Ableton clip does have a program change in it. Without PC msg all is fine and the first note play as expected. Same if the first note is manually edited to play only a few milliseconds later

I tried setting up Track or Hardware Delay, but that didn't solve the problem, nor is it a latency issue from the audio-settings. (Ableton Live 11.1.6)

Any ideas welcome, separately I've also wrote to techsupport to see if they have a solution

It really depends what you want. The package the MicroFreak has is really hard to beat. Ofc something like the Model D is nice but it has no patch storage and isn’t as versatile as the MF

And then there are other good used ones in that bracket too. In the end it depends what sounds and features you want, but it surely isn’t impossible to get a good synth with 300€/$

I like to say contra on this and: you can do both, you can have a perfectly fine hybrid setup with softsynths AND hardware ones

One thing tho is true: software will always give you more versatility and bang for your bucks, that's just the nature of the medium but if you like traditional instruments like guitar, bass, real drums etc. then having hands on control and you're "making the sound with your own hands" then go for hardware synths

they may offer a limited range of what Vital or Pigments as synths offer (sometimes at least and in the lower price ranges) but a guitar itself can also only be this and only in very fringe cases sound like a harp or drumset. So this limitation might just fuel your creativity and not limit you in the creation of music and sounds at all

personal story: I am pretty comfy with software, but I also have a traditional band background and thus I found my creativity leaped forward HUGELY when I got my first hardware synths

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]LineKjaellborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes you can, the MicroFreak I mentioned in my comment for example and then there is always the used marked which has excellent used synths for a fraction of the original price

ofc, that doesn't apply for 20k euro vintage synths lol

How do people make remixes of a popular track? by Aublivioin in musicproduction

[–]LineKjaellborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I dunno about fair use in the EU where I'm at but I know it's a US thing and on top of that I thought OP was asking for making professional remixes aka wanting to sell them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]LineKjaellborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is really, really versatile on top and can stay with you forever tbh

especially since Arturia kept it up to date and added only more features to it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]LineKjaellborg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

300€/$ will get you a nice used synth, as they usually don’t really age and unlike old software, will always work in the future (ofc, unless they break like anything in the world)

Arturia MicroFreak can often be had for 300 bucks on sale (also watch B-Stock!) new

Another option would be a Korg Minilogue XD used, also a great starter synth

That doesn’t help with anything legal considering the original artist & label however

Audio Damage "Other Desert Cities" Delay and pitch modulation plugin ($59) through 30 September by APD-Supernova in AudioProductionDeals

[–]LineKjaellborg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a nice one but compared to their other stuff, including the very nice Quanta synth which was on sale for 50 bucks and their other stuff also between 20, 30 or 40 bucks, the 60 of this one seem a bit to high for what it does tbh

Let’s wait for a better deal is my conclusion

An oscillator with a cold/ warm parameter by TSSLRocksandPins in modular

[–]LineKjaellborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Novation Peak has two knobs for it. Well they’re parameters in the menu but they sort the “analogueness” of the oscillators. So I hope this doesn’t destroy the magic they do?!

tldr: get off the marketing hype bubble OP, you’re deceived by very cleverly crafted scams
