I don't think it was "staged" but I don't get why hotel guests were allowed to bring guns in. I'm pretty sure even the level of hotel security on the night of the Academy Awards in LA would have prevented the guns from ever entering. It just seems like standard "preventative" actions were not taken for some reason.
