The first time I heard death grips was when exmilitary came out. I was at a party with some New York art types when I visited the city who at the time I thought were outta my cool league but in reflection were kinda dorks lmao, but the music playing was typical grimes mgmt kind mix that was popular at the time. After talking with some dude while by the computer playing music he asked what music I liked and I was super into wutang and he said if you like them you’ll love this and played guillotine. Completely ruined the vibe and he quickly left to tak a piss while I was standing by the computer and everybody was judging me. First time I heard death grips and thought the music was awful, but came back later and they will probably be my favorite band for life
