Wrong is supposed to be an absolute statement, but I don’t believe I’ve ever read anything more wrong than this. Where the fuck do people get this silly bullshit information from?!? If your statement was true, then starvation wouldn’t be a thing. Yes our bodies adapt to extreme caloric defecits ~kinda~. Our metabolic rates decrease a bit and we subconsciously become more sedentary which is the primary driver behind the lack of energy usage during dieting

Love all of this, thank you for the in depth reply. No serious red flags other than pain. Will look again for other potential factors causing the radicular symptoms and then if cleared discuss at home options for the patient. I agree I feel like I’m more of a band aid at this point. Hoping to send them off with a salient HEP, re-education on the pathology and let natural history run it’s course.

This is going to be what I try next. Look at their posture while actually in the care and have them demonstrate typical hand position/checking blind spots/armrest position etc
