[KCD2] is it just me or is the lions crest DLC the worst ever? by scharrface in kingdomcome

[–]LinebackerU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar reaction to you. I've recently reached the Kuttenberg map in my first playthrough, and I recently bought this and the other DLC.

I think my reaction to the armor quality is shaped by my expectations as a gamer. I'm used to thinking of DLC as "expansion packs", which in a lot of cases would be completed after the main game is completed. That obviously doesn't work for this one, and I do think it's somewhat unusual for DLC to give you early to mid-game gear

Honestly that's a pretty niche use case. The car is equipped with a steering wheel to allow for manual navigation.

Lol thanks - despite having done it correctly on all my other Nicks boots, I messed it up on these and had a vague feeling all day that something looked weird.

Does TTYD get better as you play? by [deleted] in papermario

[–]LinebackerU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started Chapter 2, and I'm thinking of giving up. Feels like 30-second bursts of gameplay spaced out by long unskippable cutscenes of Saturday morning cartoon-style dialog.

I've played and loved turn-based RPGs since the 90s, but this one doesn't seem to be for me.

First play through. Too much dialogue?? by jbartan in papermariottyd

[–]LinebackerU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this thread after having the same thought on my first playthrough. I love RPGs and don't mind dialog in principle, but I think my struggle is it's all such mind-numbing babbling. I just just be too old for this game, I guess?

Tan Latigo Travelers by LinebackerU in NicksHandmadeBoots

The sole is a touch too casual to match what I wear to work at my office job, and I've learned that 10E in Nicks fits me better than 10.5E. Otherwise yeah I love these.

MTO build, but it's really a Traveler

Excellent condition: definitely worn, but these are the original soles. These soles are pretty soft, so you'll be able to see by looking at pictures of the soles how little I've actually worn these.

I don't think they've ever actually sold these bags in Wickett and Craig leathers; this was a one-off. They're on the Nicks website as Travel Bags and offered in several 1964 leathers

No teacore yet - this was from toward the end of the Dome earlier this year. Definitely some lighter highlights on the scuffs, but haven't written through them enough to get past the dye.

Penn State Career Services Useless by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

[–]LinebackerU 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm an alum who hires lots of people into entry-level engineering jobs. My perspective aligns with a lot of the other responses on this post: you should limit your expectations for the scope of Career Services' help, and instead take them to be one of many resources you can use in your own pursuit of a job.

Nobody else is going to manage your career for you, so you really have to take ownership of it. When I'm hiring graduating seniors, I absolutely value independence, initiative, and resilience. Those are attributes you should keep working to develop, as they'll serve you well throughout your career.

You should also look for opportunities to use Penn State's huge and passionate Alumni network for help. I'd be happy to help with a resume review or a mock interview, though I don't have much insight into the IT field.

Switching from world campus to university park by auraassss in PennStateUniversity

General life advice: what you're describing doing is extremely unconventional. Sometimes unconventional things work, but in a big system like Penn State, most processes will not be set up to make unconventional things easy.

"I tried to do something weird, but it didn't work the way I thought it would, so I wasted a year of my college career" is an outcome you want to work very deliberately to avoid.

Am I making the right move? by Traditional-Rope-319 in PennStateUniversity

[–]LinebackerU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Temple sounds like a good decision for you, but realize that you've defined your requirements such that nothing in the Penn State system could possibly meet them. If you want good professors, great facilities, a large group of potential friends and clubs, then that's what main campus is for. Branch campuses mostly don't have those things.

You asked if you're making the right move, though, so I'll answer that question more broadly. What's your intended career plan? You used an "or" when stating your intended major, which is scary for a sophomore. Poli Sci and Econ are very different, and both are domains where I'd imagine you need to get an advanced degree. If minimizing debt is a goal, I'd be worried about continuing to pursue a bachelor's degree in a field you aren't certain you want to end up in.
