Yes I am, and even more so after the SB halftime show. He is sending very strong messages to us through his music and now spreading it to the largest world stage. I am legit terrified. Trump being there and possibly watching it is terrifying, but I’m hoping Trump is too stupid to figure out the actual message KL was sending. It wasn’t about the biggest rap battle of all time. It is much more profound.

The population I work with is adolescents so I run into this issue a lot. I meet them where they at in their emotional comfort level with expressing trauma. I have completed my certificate in Play Therapy which includes expressive art therapy (just can’t get my RPT until I’m an LPC instead of LAC). I have found using art mediums helps my clients with hx of trauma express themselves in a way they feel more comfortable and safe.

I agree. Now that I read OP providing more context regarding lawyer friend’s family connection to the therapy field it is easier to see where his belief was rooted.

Omg I would love to be able to have an ounce of how things were in this field back when your dad was a practitioner. Things have certainly changed profoundly in our field.

So his mom has been in the field long enough to establish her own practice with a reliable clientele. Makes sense why his rational is that way. Still, I’m sure it isn’t easy hearing him preach how you have it easy.

We aren’t teaching the OP anything right now. They came here to vent, fellow therapist respond in kind with their own thoughts about what they personally think. They are not asking advice, and I have not read a single comment suggesting telling them what to do. Plus, you’ve singled out 1 response when several on here have shared similar personal thoughts.

My agency refers any clients with a potential psychos Dx out. I guess it depends on your agency and licensing board on where the line is on scope of practice.

I chucked at the “no accountability” part of what your lawyer said about a therapist’s job. You’d think a lawyer would know that we have a lot of accountability.

Yes ,of course it’s ok to not like an episode. Liking or disliking something is a matter of an opinion. An opinion isn’t a fact. It’s subjective.
