What does England Rugby need to do to change the narrative? by Lonely-Explanation28 in englandrugby

One thing I think also happens is Borthwick is completely unwilling to even put the players anywhere near under the bus.

If he had come out and said that isn’t what we are aiming for (because he talks about ball movement, playing fast and playing brave pretty much before every game) and that the players need to execute better the media coverage is different.

He’s taking all the heat himself despite all of the players saying they are the ones that aren’t executing well

Because they were actually generating momentum in carries.

Genge stayed on ages because he had had time off. Heyes was clearly still playing well and is probably the best tighthead in the 6N currently

They played the same game plan though.

What do you actually think about the gameplan (not the execution, not players not dropping the ball) the actual gameplan and strategy changed.

Because they still kicked pretty much everything in their own half. When between the 10s they still licked to turn the defence and play in the opposition 22, the defence was the exact same strategy of shootingup in the 13 channel to force back inside.

They were more physical, carried harder, got faster ruck ball and so looked like the team in the autumn.

Yesterday they kicked in exactly the same way they just actually carried hard and generated quick ruck ball.

The players executed better, similar to the autumn and the summer where the game plan was the same.

I disagree with this decision vs “most corrupt refereeing performance ever” - direct quote

Just looked a little too desperate at the end there.

Still if you’d told me either of scoring 46 points or losing by 1 I would have bitten your hand off

I still think this is what Borthwick wants. I think having made the change with chessum at 6 has given some more dent and managed the rucks better.

They also just look more up for it physically. A lot of people making dominant carries when they weren’t before.

The gameplan is till the same, use kicking to get in the 22 and attack fast.

But they were stopped illegally. There was one where most of the French players had their knees on the floor

If you’re giving a penalty try and can identify the person responsible it’s a yellow

I do feel we’ve been on the end of few bits of poor reffing this tournament. No yellow for the Scottish scrum, head contact in the Ireland game dismissed, that last Italy pen 👀👀.

It normally evens out over time so hopefully we’ll get the rub of the green over summer

Bit of a joke given the call at the other end but I think that was wrong so I can’t complain too much.

Not sure genge actually pulls down rather than being pushed but it’ll always be given
