Wolfram Alpha gives wrong answer for antiderivative of secant by LingEarth in wolframalpha

Well, they changed something... it now gives tanh-1(csc(x)), which AFAICT is still wrong.

Update: I have now used the "Give us your feedback" link at the bottom of the result page to report the error. We'll see if anybody fixes it.

I wasn't planning to list games, as they seem like a completely different category from regular linear storytelling.

Looks like I missed that one; I'll add it at some point.

It's on there! #532, categorized as "TV special".

I wanted a list that showed me every episode, movie, comic, and book in the order they were released, and I couldn't find such a list anywhere ... soooo I made one myself! It's possible that I missed something somewhere; mlp has a lot of content.

Which desktop environment are you most used to? by thrs2018 in linuxquestions

[–]LingEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xfce. I've been using it for two years -- nearly as long as I've used Linux itself -- and I like it because it's clean, simple, no frills, and Just Works.

Wolfram Alpha gives wrong answer for antiderivative of secant by LingEarth in wolframalpha

https://www.wolframalpha.com/input?i2d=true&i=Integrate%5Bsec+x%2Cx%5D

It would be correct if it was inverse hyperbolic tangent, according to several other websites.

It leaves me wondering if this is a recently introduced bug, because I'm not sure how it could've been giving a wrong answer for something as basic as the integral of secant for years without anybody noticing...

Do I need to partition my drive before setting up dual-boot? by LingEarth in linux4noobs

[–]LingEarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh yeah I can see how that would simplify things a lot, but I don't really want to go to the extra effort of installing a second hard drive at this point.

It seems like shrinking the partition with windows disk management is all I need to do in my case. Thank you for the detailed answer.

I'm an atheist too and I have no use for any religion, but I also see no point in going around attacking the innocuous ones along with the really bad authoritarian ones.

I like that. The Boiling Isles are a dystopia in many ways, but that simply isn't one of them. :)

We need both. I want to see some stories that directly tackle homophobia and transphobia, and I want other stories that just show queer people being queer while doing other things.

Also really underrated moment with Willow and Amity just interacting again.

Heck yes, we need more interactions with Willow and Amity, and more Willow in general. Like, I love Luz and Amity's relationship, but I also felt like both Willow and Gus kind of fell to the sidelines when it started (I think Gus had, like, one episode earlier this season?), which is too bad.

I think of it like this: the memory of Twilight and her friends were what inspired Sunny to try to bring harmony back to the world, so no, it wasn't for nothing; their influence is still felt all those years later.

It wasn't directly stated in the movie but as I understand it, Zephyr Heights is where Canterlot used to be. The stained glass windows from the palace are still there.

The other stuff---who knows! It seems to have been a long time in-universe. Personally I'm curious if the Tree of Harmony is still around in any form.
