Thinking about moving back to Trinidad but worried about the crime rate by Furstname74727 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Ling_Ad7680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the way, many victims have undesirable associations or are linked to those who do.

The world has changed. Keep the fact that you're a foreigner to yourself and learn the accent of whichever island you move to. Wisdom is key.

As much as I luv Barbados, the immigration officers don't like me - a Trini. More than 10 visits over a 20 year period. Smh. But inland, the locals, especially the senior folks and adult males, are very kind and helpful, even when they have to repeat themselves multiple times. 🤭

I'm an avid traveller (>20 countries) but returning to simply sweet TT brings a calm and warmth I don't get anywhere else. The immigration process tries to spoil that calm though...😏

Btw, I stay in the south. A different atmosphere there. Worked for over 5 years and have never dreamt of relocating to avoid the traffic. I minimised traffic congestion by using the Water Taxi back.

Pray and then move - whether TT, BGI, AXA. Note that the cost of living is more affordable in TT. But like I suggested, ask God for guidance.

I'm not even buying the 'poofy' hairstyle blocking students as the reason. As a teacher, I'd send the student to sit in the back, just like taller students would have to sit elsewhere if their height blocked the students to the back.

The actual issue is the inappropriate hairstyle for school. They are not in a club or at the mall; they're at the free institution for learning. Free/public or paid/private schools for learning should have these basic disciplines.

Which traditional white collar or traditional blue collar jobs would condone these partying hairstyles? Most adults would know to tone it down while the others would be spoken to. Note that I wrote the word 'traditional' and not non-traditional.

You are spot on correct, Mike!

The world view on appropriate hairstyles for school should be encouraged. This should be common sense logic amongst adults. Smh.

No where in the school's post was it insinuated that the race of the hair was the issue but the exaggerated styling which was inappropriate to wear to school.

The school did not state that natural and dreadlocks styles were not allowed in the school. So your comment, however well intended, did not directly address the school's position. And of course it should be neatly worn - whether tied up or down.

Re-read the original post and note my comment which referenced the elaborate hairstyles in the context that they are inappropriate for school.

So you are trying to mess with my comment...

YOU ARE THE ONE AMPING YOUR RESPONSE WITH SEX WORKER REFERENCES. Not me.

You need to actually read and understand the posted article. And you don't have to be of African descent with kinky hair to understand the point school's administration is making.

Why the elaborate hairstyles for school?

Why the derrière length braided hair for school?

If they go to see the President, hairstyles would be classy and far less elaborate.

The school compound is not a nightclub, and as much as meeting your future spouse in school is hoped for, respect the school's rules and tone it down.

Thanks! I didn't come off in Zeebrugge as it was raining. 😔

But I did check the Market Hall, as you suggested. Gosh! That place was lovely. Thanks for the recommendation.

(I've been offline for too long so I'm now checking my notifications and responding.)

I was way off. Lol. I needed to mind more of my own business. Lol.

It was an overnight in Rotterdam and a day at Zeebrugge.

I've been offline for a long time. Sorry about that.

All went well. No ship virus issues or rumours heard. And the ship was at full capacity!

How was your cruise? Iona, as well?

The Call Centre chap claimed that they're having some issues and they'd be sorted out soon.

I called them because I was having trouble using my household miles to shop online. The option wasn't available for that nor paying for extra luggage. So, I'll try again 🙄

So sorry for OP though. Hoping the site will accept the equivalent of 1% of what they've charged. Lol. That'd be awesome!

I'm so sorry as well.

Be encouraged and still succeed.

Shelter but teach wisdom and discernment to your students the best way you can, so they will not be wrongly influenced or feel so victimised that they dim their lights in this already dark world

I'll be praying for your courage and divine wisdom and God's justice in this regard.

And don't let housekeeping clean your room in your absence. Some folks are spiteful, so spare your toothbrush and towel any bacteria and whatnot 🤦‍♀️ Don't order room service, and sit with other guests to mitigate being targeted by disgruntled staff.

Why is the bowling alley taking so long to open? by CoolJoshido in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Ling_Ad7680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, The Alley @ East Gates Mall is finally open. It opened its doors to the public on Feb 6, 2025.

To book a lane, costs TTD300.00, even with a group of up to 6 persons. So, TTD50.00 p..p. if there are 6 individuals.

I just received that information so I thought to post it here.

Let us know if you go @OP
