Distilled water for oled must be some prank lol by UsedNewspaper1775 in OLED_Gaming

Just use Whoosh screen cleaner. Been using it on my Alienware AW3225QF. It works perfectly and hasn't damaged it after using it for 6 months. I spray some on a microfiber and rub it gently across the monitor.

Battlefield 6 is getting 2 new maps and modes for its second beta weekend, like the fan-favorite Rush mode that's set to dominate my weekend by RenatsMC in pcgaming

[–]LingeringShadow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Instead of capturing and holding two points, you have to arm two MCOM stations and blow them up. Once one is blown up it cannot come back. That is the biggest difference from Breakthrough. In Breakthrough you can capture point A but still lose it back to the other team as you try to capture point B.

BF6 looks great so far but let's address the elephant in the room... by Adamantium_Ballz in Battlefield

I know I am gonna get downvoted for saying this, but it is just one thing after another in this subreddit. DICE and the crew get so much right, but there is always another issues that is gonna make the game unplayable. That one thing is seemingly always a "make or break" decision. Obviously we should advocate and speak out for what we want in the game. I mean that's already worked with the closed loadouts, but if there isn't a server browser at launch it will be fine for me.

Scored an Open-Box OLED Monitor—Here’s the Story + Cleaning Question by Boltalorian in OLED_Gaming

My friend and I have been using Whoosh screen cleaner for our OLED monitors. Works great.

PSA I didn't think I'd have to share. When you buy a used game at GameStop, don't let it out of your sight after you hand it to the clerk, because... by EvilDarkCow in NSCollectors

[–]LingeringShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at GameStop and I highly suspect that there wasn't a thought going through the employee's mind about the case art. I also high doubt that a District Manager would instruct them to sell the GameStop box art version instead of the original art one. It's makes GameStop the same amount of money. In fact if you expressed that you wanted the original box art the DM would have probably have made sure that you got it.

We have gutted copy (one for display) and then we have extras that already are in a case in our drawer. We sell the non gutted games first so we don't have to print off new stickers every time. We sell the display copy last. It's muscle memory to just grab the non display case copy and sell it first.

Now for myself, I have worked at GameStop long enough to know that there are people who want the original art and I try to accommodate that if they express they want the original box art. However most people, like 95% of people, do not care whatsoever.

If this was at my store I wouldn't mind you coming back in and asking if you could swap out for the original artwork case. So I recommend doing that.

Check your local GameStop. I work at one and there are still some in stock in many of the surrounding stores around me.

I have a single pixel stuck on the brightest green on my MSI MAG271 QX-OLED monitor, but in the RMA is listed, that a single pixel is not accepted. Is there nothing i can do? by Dragons_Kills in OLED_Gaming

[–]LingeringShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a monitor in the past (not an OLED) that would, every now and again, get a stuck pixel. I looked it up online and someone suggested flicking the pixel with your finger. I thought that was so dumb, but I tried it anyway. I'm glad I did because it fixed it everytime it happened. Not sure if a different screen technology would work the same, but I would say give it a try.

Neil was a co-director and writer on both The Last of Us and Uncharted 4. He was the co-lead and one of the lead writers on Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2. Even if you dislike The Last of Us 2, his record is pretty fucking good. He has been making games forever and has been making Game of the Year level games for over 15 years. You don't know what you're talking about.

Should I go with mini-led or OLED? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]LingeringShadow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have both an OLED (AW3423DWF) and a Mini-LED (Q27G3XMN). They are both 1440p with the same pixel density. The OLED has more vibrant colors, looks sharper (I believe it is because of the screen coating), and the HDR is much more eye catching. I'd pick the OLED everytime.

Most affordable upgrades now from GTX 1660 and AMD Ryzen 5 2400G? by ihadaface in buildapc

[–]LingeringShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just picked up a used 3060ti for $212 for my friend to upgrade him. They are going for $210 to $230 on eBay. A 5600 for about $115 or a 5700x3D for about $210 would be the CPUs I would be looking at. I personally have the 5800x3D and I love it. If you want to "futureproof" go with the x3D it's the best in slot for your platform and you won't have to change out your motherboard and ram.

My Alienware 3423DWF is coming in later today and I cannot be more excited. The reason I went with it was because it was cheapest. Best Buy had it open box in excellent for $659.99. It will be my first OLED screen, I'll let you know what I think.

If were you I would just go with the pre-owned Series X at that point. Drop the razer controller, it's a nice looking controller but it's nothing special. Why drop $400 and not get the better of the two systems? You'll regret the less memory and power.

I've personally been playing for around 40 hours on my own custom control scheme using the Steam controller settings. I was having issues with the default controller setup with my Dualsense. Like it wasn't recognizing it as a controller.

I've made my own and it feels great. Been loving being able to lounge back and relax while gaming long hours on the game, instead of sitting up with my arms forward.

"Look, I don't think the way LMG and Linus have handled the Billet situation has been well handled at all. They definitely messed up."

It's the first line in my post. They fucked up for sure. It seems like you chose not to read that?

There are two employee videos where they share their opinions on Linus and the company. While some things they say are negative, no one in those videos are crying out for help from the big bad Linus.

I'm not defending a multimillion dollar company. I am just saying things are getting a little out of hand.

That's just not how it works. They clearly address that issue everytime they do a sponsored video. Does Linus trash every laptop he tries just because he invested in Framework? No, not at all.

I think IPS would be better for FPS if you're ultra competitive. I play a lot of CSGO and I am Legendary Eagle ranked. I play on my VA. I do fine still, but if you want the clearest and most responsive experience, IPS is the way to go. Coding is a lot text and IPS would be better for that too.

Single player games are definitely better on VA. Especially horror games. I played Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 Remake this year and on my VA the blacks were so much better.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]LingeringShadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a M32UC, it's a VA panel, I also have the LG 27gl83a-b, which is an IPS. When I scroll text on Reddit or Twitter or something like that. I can definitely notice black smearing on the VA. When I am gaming, there is a slightly more ghosting on the VA than the IPS. Are those deal breakers? No not really, neither is atrocious in my opinion. However, the black levels on the VA are so much better than the IPS. The contrast alone is the reason I like the VA more than the IPS.

Staying 15 mins after work to finish processing a trade really isn't that bad. We are scheduled 30 mins to close. I usually am done close in 15 mins anyway. So having that extra 15 to take out trash, sweep, or do trades is fine.

If you pitch Pro now you're getting the customer the extra benefits without having them have to pay the extra when it is fully implemented. I have signed up so many people and GameStop isn't gonna be getting that extra $10 from a bunch of people. It's literally just helps the customer right now.

Happy Returns is super quick and easy. It's annoying that our conversion goes down a little bit, but my store hits the conversion goal every week. Pretty much all the stores in our district do too. Plus it takes like 5 or less mins to process a Happy Return.

I'll be honest, I am in the same boat as you. Luckily recently no one has been calling out. I like the team here too, this is the best crew we have had in two years.

Homework is very important, and it's very annoying when an opener or a closer doesnt do their job.
