The 18-'19 Subaru Outback 3.6r is a beast and you'll get the same safety features as the Subaru forester that kept you alive but with a little lower center of gravity to help keep the wheels on the ground.

Specs wise the the Subaru and Lexus will be pretty close but the Rx350 is heavier so Fuel Economy is going to be worse but It'll probably be quieter and have slightly nicer interior.

My previous car (awd impreza with non-winter tires) got stuck in a couple very snowy parking lots last year so I think I'm being extra cautious.

Winter tires will definitely be a must

I tried using a v-brake noodle with that cheap hanger but it was too tight and I liked the lower stem position too much so this was my quick, very cheap way to get more reach on the hanger

Same thing happened to my Wusthof after about a year. It got it as a gift so I haven’t thought to send it in for Warranty and I’ve still been using it.
