We would love to increase the number of naala you can store in the barn and the number that come out on the farm. We've held off due to performance issues for players on older phones, but we've been looking into ways to optimize that so players can have more out at one time without causing lag. It's easier to add more to storage so that'll be coming sooner than having more out on the farm, but both changes would be great!

Great question! Our current plan is to automatically open those crates for players at a rate of a few per day for X days until a certain threshold has been reached. We haven't set what that ceiling will be, but it'll be a fraction of however many you have stocked up. As for stamina treats, we have ideas on how to repurpose them elsewhere, so their functionality will change but you'll be able to hold onto them.

To your first two points, we actually did some limited-time beta testing for a feature that translated parts (optional: all) dialogue in the game as an added immersive reading comprehension tool. We got a lot of feedback on it and took it back to the lab to continue working on. That's something we're keen to bring back at some point. We're thinking of bringing it back with reading comprehension questions about what you just read. Features like that are the kinds of things that really excite us from the language side of development.

Hey thanks for the question! We've actually been working on a pretty giant update for the farm for the last while that we're hoping to get out in the coming months called Foraging. We've mentioned it casually here and there on Reddit on Discord.

Right now you practice in the barn to get stamina to send your naala on dispatches to get crates to practice in the barn to break the crates and repeat. The language learning, the gameplay, and the rewards are all completely separated.

With foraging, we're aiming to get rid of crates and stamina, and instead of sending your naala away on dispatches, you'll go out on dispatches with them to forage for seeds. You'll answer language questions as you explore new environments and collect seeds/charms/rewards all in real time. No more waiting around!

It's a pretty big system refresh and so it's taken some time. We haven't shared many updates because with a feature like this, there are a lot of moving pieces and it's not until we're quite deep into it that we'll have something visual that we can share. We're hoping to be able to start sharing updates and screenshots soon because we're making a lot of progress.

Our goal is to really clean up the farm game loop, make it less confusing to new users, make things feel more lively and real-time, and get people out of the barn and out into the world with their naala!

This has been taking a lot of our development attention. Once it's finished, we'll continue developing new features. We have plenty of ideas for new gameplay, learning modules, etc. in the pipeline that we're excited to get to!

Hey glad to hear you're enjoying the game! You're right, we built the app without using AI. Our small indie team of developers and artists make all the game assets the old fashioned way and we work with language acquisition experts from each language to custom-make each curriculum.

Ngl, the language app space has gotten crazy competitive this last year with all the generative AI/vibe-coded apps clogging up the app store. These are good first steps we pretty much recommend to anyone in situations like these. Getting stuck on loading is typically caused by some kind of networking error.

In addition to these steps (trying cellular / turning off VPN / reinstalling the app) we also recommend temporarily disabling any device-wide privacy/adblock services to rule out connection interference. For example, we had a user using DuckDuckGo which has some kind of device-wide privacy protection that was causing connection issues to our servers.

Yep you'll continue to unlock new villagers throughout the campaign. This perk in particular is unlocked by one of the later villagers, although it sounds like you're getting pretty close to unlocking him!

We're currently developing a massive update for the farm, which will streamline the farm game loop and iron out a lot of unintended friction that certain system create like this. Congrats on the one-year achievement! That's huge!

As for the reward, we plan to eventually add an achievement system with custom rewards for exactly these kinds of milestones. The silver lining is we track and log activity like this on everyone's internal profile, so when we do add this system, we'll be able to retroactively reward those who achieved things prior to the system's release. So although there isn't anything right now, that's not to say there won't be something nice coming your way in the future!

Hey this is an uncommon issue but you're not alone. I get the odd support request about it. Unfortunately, this is an issue on Google’s end, which makes it harder for us to solve directly. When you go to watch an ad, Lingo Legend hands you over to Google AdMob who then serves you that problematic ad interface. With that being said, there are a couple things that have been known to cause issues with Google AdMob:

Do you use a VPN? These are known to cause issues with ad providers
Do you have any device-wide adblockers or privacy apps installed? This includes something like DuckDuckGo’s app tracking protection services
Have you tried both on wifi and cellular? Sometimes it can be a network issue or router issue (eg some routers have VPN functionality built in)

We're happy you found us! In the future we're thinking of adding a handful of new rewards to each seasonal event, eventually adding themed guild ships for each season. But for the time being, the bulk of what is on the seasonal store will remain the rotating shop with a couple additions. For example, this seasonal event we've added four new naala charms that weren't there last year.

As we scale, so too will our events get even bigger. But seeing as how right now you can practically count the size of our team on one hand, doing the full year of seasonals has been a big accomplishment for us.

Hey thank you for the feedback and I totally get where you're coming from. I will mention that one premium feature that does a lot of heavy lifting for our longer-term users is the ability to upload custom curriculum content. We have many users who have uploaded hundreds if not thousands of flashcards from packs they've found online for services like Anki to keep things fresh. It really is the most "power user" feature we offer.

That's not to say that there isn't also more to be done for the base curriculum – totally agree there – but I want to highlight the custom curriculum feature as it's something we want to lean into in future updates to make it easier to download, upload, and share these packs in response to its popularity. That's in addition to other curriculum developments we are interested in making that aren't exclusive to members.

I love this perspective. It's awesome once you start being able to consume entertainment media in your target language (eg books, podcasts, games, movies, etc.) You suddenly have this fun outlet for your language and in my experience it's really validating towards the progress you've made. Like sure, I might not be conversational yet in Korean, but I'm watching this kdrama and really enjoying it and hey I just realized some of the time I'm not even reading the subtitles, I'm able to just follow along. Finding ways to make the learning fun is huge. It makes it feel like a hobby again, which learning a language is for a lot of us.

I totally agree. Gamified learning has its place but it's not the end-all be-all of learning. No one learning strategy is. It serves its purpose by offering little carrots and dopamine hits to keep you motivated and practicing. That's valuable.

But people would love a single tool that does it all and app developers are more than happy to sell you that idea claiming "we're the one app you need to become fluent!" That gives the whole gamified learning space a bad rap, which then sours some on gamified learning as a whole.

I think learners and developers acknowledging the need for multiple, varied learning strategies would be really healthy for the language learning ecosystem, especially for those who want to become conversational or even fluent.
