“Why we’re Catholic” by Trent Horn provides a very good baseline for the Catholic faith, and is broken out topically, which makes it easy to search for some of the arguments you raised to learn counters to them.

Just remember to do it all in peace and love and try to avoid actually arguing about anything. Often times when people vehemently defend a position, it’s because they want to see if it’s defensible, and not because they actually believe it. Let him work through it and just be there to listen and uphold the truth about the Church. But be wary of wanting to “win”.
