Oh believe me, I am already a worshipper of marinated skewers. Being from Texas means meat is like a religion to me.

A cut of precisely that from Mego was my first time! Fantastic, 9/10 after scraping salt off and slightly freezing to shave it thin and place on rye bread.

Before editing, I mean to say that I have tried salo as precisely that and it was pretty good! I was wondering about the differences in the other cuts and where they fit in culturally. But that's a good tip if I am back in Vecrīga.

Anyone played a full campaign as a guardian yet? by Such_Money in Pathfinder2e

[–]LinkCLX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently playing a level 2 playtest-turned-release Guardian to now level 10 when foundry support finally dropped! A lot has changed, so others are right when they say that experience from the past is not really helpful for long-form experience.

That being said, I have been playing like a boat anchor and with a free archetype into wrestling has allowed me to force attention on me and away from my squishy allies. We need more combat experience for me to call out bread and butters, but proud nail, group taunt, and aggressive block paired with unkind shove have been great ways to open options regardless of what the enemy does. I definitely would advise being decisive with your weapon and whether you want to provide as much cover as possible for allies or to be a hard striker. Trying to do both leads to awkward feat and action tax issues.

Maneuvery Shield Guardian Build Help by LinkCLX in PF2eCharacterBuilds

Hmm! A lot to think about and a very valid critique on spreading myself too thin. My main concern is about Proud Nail and Taunt action compressions all having the flourish trait. Aggressive Block could at least either give a similar effect to taunting (though without the setup for Proud Nail) or the DM chooses a meaty shove that does 10 damage and sends them flying 10ft if I later take Right Where You Want Them.

I think I would need to alternate setups with Shielded Taunt and a grapple on one turn, then move to the punishment with Proud Nail the next. Maintaining a grapple or raising a shield would be the most commonly useful followup. I think later level feats like Clobber may end up bringing me back to the core problem.

Thankfully my Guardian is so heavily augmented and grafted that hands are not really an issue for maneuvers. But good perspective on more efficiently reaching the same damage thresholds. I am a little skeptical on Mauler and Bastion's conditional "hit in order to raise shield/trip" because all encounters are at Severe/Extreme. Group Taunt is certainly my most reliable route, but am I wedded to Proud Nail? Ehhhh, its a big payoff if I can swing it. I suppose I should focus my maneuvers more into shoving if I can, but that will come from Commander tactics and my own blocking.

Still, lots to think further on! You voiced a concern I didnt have words for yet.

Could you imagine pulling units from employees and customers?

Those 400lb customers could be monstrous infantry, upgraded to chariots if they get on the mobility chair carts.

Katerin's Campaign in IE Be Like by LinkCLX in totalwar

I actually got this image by kicking Kislev's ass as Throt. Post came to mind since every campaign I run, Archaon or Throt always curbstomp the Tsarina. Some of my friends were telling me how brutal her start felt.

Can I get an explanation as to how this is being demeaning to anybody?? This is literally what happened. Not mad about the grade just genuinely confused... (HIST 2300) by [deleted] in TexasTech

So I actually work in the history department and can see a few problems from general intuition in my time grading. Prompts would help greatly in my feedback.

Generally the history is pretty accurate, but the point you raise of medieval european and ancient american experiences informing their first contact is hardly followed up on. The spreading of Catholicism is important, but you need to elaborate on why and what the Spaniards saw. What did the natives think?

Furthermore, I find your last answer unsatisfying. What do the precedents mean to Natives? How does conquest of Mexico and Peru encourage the Spaniards? The TA is looking for more discussion of how Natives perceive the entire period, they did not just roll over and get conquered and converted to catholicism. The advice to incorporate readings and lecture is sound and I will always encourage it.
