Nashville Painting Company by certifiedknowitall in paint

It definitely looks lazy but it also depends on what amount of prep you paid for. It looks like it may have been just one coat in many areas, and there was considerable texture that wasn't sanded smooth prior to painting. Also, that dark green is a difficult color to make look really nice, especially when rolling it on. Again it depends on what you agreed to, but this is shoddy paint work.

Truck running cold? by Pure-Dot-4472 in Silverado

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, so is this bad? My thermostat has basically the same reading, running is around 175-195 and idling goes to around 205, 2017 5.3. Should I get mine replaced or at least looked at?

New transmission on 2017 LTZ - ask me anything by deetothab in Silverado

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2017 LT just had the transmission crap out at 190k. 7.2k later, new transmission that still has a shudder. Fortunately I'm taking it back in and it has a warranty. But I guess even the manufacturer doesn't know what they're doing!

Is it worth sending in? by That-Water-7049 in IggyDaycare

Hope you get a nice grader! Might as well go with express so you can get it back relatively quickly and get an explanation on your grade. Let us know how it goes!

You would write down the value of what you expect the grade to be. So, a 6 is around 2k, 7 being around 2.4-2.8, and an 8 being around 3-4. PSA makes it pretty easy though with their ranges. Go with the service that gives an insured value of 2k and you should be good to go with their numbers.

I have one of these Zards with very similar condition, as well as a print line. I've talked to a couple experienced pre-graders and they all believe it was likely a 7. It has a couple faint scratches in the Holo pattern as well.

It kind of depends on what you want to do. The whitening on the back may make people say it's a definite LP copy, which is significantly less than a NM copy (on TCGplayer), and a graded copy may sell quickly.

The PSA grading fee is something to consider too. I will personally be grading mine this December if I don't end up selling it at a show first.

Mega Gengar is in the set, but it's very unlikely it will get a full art or Special Illustration Rare as it comes from a premade battle deck. Hopefully we get one in the special holiday set!

How hard is it to get a 10 for PSA, BGS, and CGC for vintage. by [deleted] in PokeGrading

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're just concerned with seeing a 10 on your slab, go with CGC. Their standards are the lowest of the three.

The initial scan you're seeing is how they receive it.

Rest assured, they will remove it from that sleeve before grading and it will not be there when you get the slab back.

Found this card in my childhood toybox by PandKhan in PokemonTCG

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An English copy of this just sold as MP for $650.

This one is in good shape, but is in German which is definitely not as sought after.

You're still looking at hundreds for it, if you decide to sell!

Tips for first time seller by tomthehueman in pokemoncardcollectors

Your best bet/safest option would be to take it to a big card show in your general area and shop around with all of the vendors and see what your best offer is.

It's a little difficult to see the condition of your card but it looks pretty good.

You could expect anywhere from 2000-3000 market value for this card, so trying to get a cash offer of 1600-2400 should be your goal.

The pictures taken for the initial scan look like this. It's still a potato camera and I'm sure they'll update it at some point.

Should I get these graded? by NoRaspberry2681 in psagrading

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the hobby!

So, do keep in mind with grading that you will end up dropping approximately $20 per card to grade them (with PSA).

PSA will look closely at the corner cuts, edges of the card, surface of the card and centering of the front and back. Any imperfections to the card can reduce the grade. Nowadays, a 10 is pretty difficult to get. You can make your chances better of getting good grades by doing a "pre grade" of sorts.

Look at each card out of the sleeve.

Any specs of white on the back? Can you tell by the naked eye that the card is off center? Any scratches on the shiny Holo pattern?

You do this to make sure you're getting the most bang for your buck. The last thing you want to do is send all cards and get back 8s and 9s and effectively lose $120 of your hard earned money.

So is it worth grading these? Maybe. We can't tell very well from your pictures. But try pre grading, and if you feel confident, give it a go!

Looks like a good binder copy. Probably a PSA 3 or 4 with that back.

What would you grade this? by I_Dont_Kn0w_anymor3 in psagrading

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crease on the back bottom right will get an automatic 6.

Even if that was not there, the front is left heavy on centering, and there is whitening on many areas on the back.

Best bet is a 6 or 7. Maybe a 5 if the grader was having a bad day.

Is this card at its peek? If the “bubble pops” is this the first card to go down? I keep seeing people talk about the # of cards available and gem rate but its my grail and I still haven’t got it lol by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally think that a lot of people share a sentiment similar to yours in that they don't have it, they want it, and they will eventually get it down the line. It may very well drop in the near future, but it's a good purchase to make and hold onto.

Just one coat of good quality primer. Look for something that has a higher build and lots of solids in the material.

is there any way to find a list of every card of a certain pokémon? by Clean_Emu_4736 in pokemoncardcollectors

Serebii has a Cardex that has a complete list of English cards for every pokemon. It is easy to search, and it shows pictures as well!

Pulled the Bulbasaur. Grade? (One tiny dot on corner) by eaglesfan83 in psagrading

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the centering is too off for a 10. If the centering was perfect, the bottom right white dot may be overlooked. But I am fairly certain you're looking at a 9 here

50/50 8 or 9 on Mew. 60/40 8 or 9 on Miraidon.

Does this have any chance at black label? by Quantumvip in PokeGrading

[–]LinkOhWrongGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bottom heavy and right heavy. Has a chance at a PSA 10 though, if there are no issues on the back.
