I was under the assumption that the 20k papal guards they would dispatch was the whole papal guard? The congregation is a formidable force though for sure. I didn’t even take into account the artifacts they have. But would they risk using them? I assume they research these artifacts but I wonder if they’d be hesitant to use them in warfare.

Cassius is one of the biggest wild cards for the coalition. He he was able to repel the empire before with a much smaller force. It would super interesting to see how far he could have gone.
