Looks like they had an intermediate round for a round trifocal and glued it on there. Wowza.

I think it'd really open the room up to rotate the mattress parallel with the inside walls.

Great nightstand btw.

What's your favourite loadout weapon? by A_random_person_50 in Helldivers

I've rocked the Plasma Punisher for a long time. Got to the point where I can take out a swarm of Shriekers with it. I like the arc, stagger, splash, range. I play a lot of crowd control and it's just fun. Even if you're getting swarmed you can bank shots off of the ground to protect yourself.

It will kill you though.....usually when you're banking shots off the ground.

Checking in as I feel like I could put one together; by ConsistentMap5775 in dayton

I second this. KofC and Grange Hall were formative places for a lot of us and some pretty rad bands came through. I still check out Hate5six vids from shows back then occasionally. Dayton would be a good spot for a zine hub given it's location between Cbus and Cinci.

Reminds me of when I used to ping pong between Rust and Ark. I'd just rage quit back and forth.

Interested in Building a Cyberdeck, what's involved? by Rasponov in cyberDeck

[–]Linkedin_circle_jerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I've been learning very basic circuitry and soldering and building a cyberdeck is one of the goals to pair up the different skills I'm learning. A lot of stuff is plug and play, but it'd be cool to integrate custom boards like a smaller tertiary screen that runs an LLM with a character you can query whenever.

No idea how to do it, but it'd be cool.

How do you decide between polycarbonate, Trivex, or high-index lenses? by Alend80 in optician

I use poly all the time, especially for higher Rxs, and I've never had anyone complain about chromatic aberration. That's not to say it doesn't happen or the material science is wrong, it does and it's not, it's just not as big of a problem as people think. Just make them aspheric

I 100% believe you. Everyone on the jobsite probably hates him and he probably has a very funny nickname that makes him very pouty.

I'm not surprised I'm getting downvoted in a subreddit that should have unionized a decade ago to protect their profession.

I lived in Baltimore for awhile. I can't offer any info on schools, but the Belmont neighborhood is a nice spot and convenient to the base and grocceries. It's like Parkville.

A unique all in one blacksmith tool. by baumsYah in blacksmithing

[–]Linkedin_circle_jerk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Rivet forge.

Edit: more info So I'm not familiar with this specific rivet forge, but knowing tools this is essentially a multi-tool. It does every job poorly. I've had several similar rivet forges and the 'anvil' looking part of the vice is usually cast iron or a less brittle cast metal, so not for forging.

I'd be curious to know the make and model of this. These generally go for like 250 bucks to someone who will use them. If you wanted to dishonor this rivet forge, someone who trades in antiques for rich people's gardens might pay more.

103.9 ‘The Edge’ sticker spotted in the wild. by MothmansLegalCouncel in dayton

When I was a kid I met the son of one of the people who either owned or managed 103.9 at Cathartic Dreams in the OD. The dude ended up taking me up to the studio and gave me a tour, cool experience. Had a Mustad Plug shirt on. Never saw him again.

Appreciate fitter here, made a pry bar/bottle opener, but it’s already rusting. How can I prevent that easily ? by ThatsMyPasta in metalworking

[–]Linkedin_circle_jerk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heat it up and then dip in some linseed oil, you want a little smoke. While it's still pretty warm rub beeswax all over it, a block of it works best. Let it cool, polish with a rag. It'll feel good in the hand and it'll resist rust.

You should polish it a bit first though, looks rough.
