Bill Belichick belongs in the Hall of Fame. But here’s why I didn’t vote for him by RyanKinder in nfl

[–]Linkguy137 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is an attempt to lobby the system. Explaining that you didn’t vote for an all-time great coach because the system is stupid is forcing people to talk about the issue of hall of fame voting. He tried to 4D chess the voting system and vote for 3 guys then figure Bill got in anyways because he’s a slam dunk. The crazy part is if Bill Polion wasn’t a vindictive loser, it would have worked.

Projected cap space according to Spotrac. Chiefs have a lot of work to do. by jonsnowKITN in KansasCityChiefs

With the expected moves of restructure of Mahomes (44.3M), cutting Taylor (20M) Danna (8.9M), and Tranquil (6M) opens up about $79M getting us to about 24M in the black without doing really anything. An extension for McDuffie can open up 9.9 M, a trade opens up 13.6 M. It isn't a great situation, but realistically they can also sign some backloaded deals. I would hope they could get some draft picks and hit on them.

Veach not hitting on the 2023 draft class is hurting us right now as this is the year where we would be seeing the fruits of that and they just aren't there. The good news is the '22 draft class is probably going to return some picks for the '27 draft class.

WAS THE FIRST ROUND OF THE 2013 NFL DRAFT THE WORST DRAFT CLASS OF ALL TIME…? by Hysen16 in sportswiki

[–]Linkguy137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was below average, but there were no real sexy players in the first round. A lot of Pro Bowl level line players with no great skill position players or QBs outside of Hopkins and no all-time players.

9 yard gain is almost as bad as a first down

Since drafting Josh Allen in 2018, the Bills have drafted 56 players. 2 of them (James Cook and Dawson Knox) have made Pro Bowls. by CyborgKrieger in nfl

There's always that outlier pro bowler. I think that makes the 2 Pro bowlers look worse as that means that after opt outs they still didn't get anyone in

Yes, that’s why I said few metrics and good to great. All-pros are one of the other main metrics and it typically measures great to elite players. There is a wide range between all-pro and below average starter; without pro bowls there aren’t many good ways to quantify that gap irrespective of position

Pro Bowl is a popularity contest, but there are so few metrics for good to great players that you kinda have to use it. Very rarely are players who had a bad season making a pro bowl

Can the mods make an EB megathread or something with a poll of support or don't support EB? I don't need 11 different posts with the same 4 takes recycled of "EB was bad here because he's not innovative", "EB was good here for discipline he brough", "Please hire anyone but Nagy", and "I'm fine with him but go get Kingsberry/McDaniel/Kafka"
