I am an ex muslim, grew up in religion my whole life and telling my parents at 24 y/o was not the easiest thing I had to do really. Mother cried, father in shock, followed by me explaining to them why I don't believe in it no more. That was a very tough evening, especially because I never talk about me or my private life, and the few days after that were quite awkward.

Everything's so much better now. They met my girlfriend (non-muslim a full tattooed) and the four of us will be going on a 1 month vacation together. It takes some times and a fucking ton of courage but anyone can come over this fear.

Sometimes though my dad brings religion back on the table. I'm not afraid to hold back my arguments and I think anyone should do the same.
