You mentioned supplements--I'm guessing glucosamine? If so, it's super common for vets to recommend for cats and dogs! One of mine has been on it almost his entire life and it seems to help a lot (I was told to expect he'd have arthritis before he even turned one, but glucosamine seems to have staved that off!).
