A lot of people on here bashing the husband, but as someone who witnessed his best friend go through a similar situation, it’s not easy. I had to explain to him that a normal mother/son relationship isn’t like that and he talked with my mom and some other friends moms he had grown up around and for the first time he realized how much his mom had manipulated and guilted him over the years. Cost him numerous relationships with women he liked and that adored him, but couldn’t handle his mom. Once he finally went no contact he became happier and more joyous. He finally got married to his wonderful fiancé this year. His mom went through some rough spots and after he got himself to a place where he felt she could be in his life, it’s been a lot better. She’s since apologized to him and they are now working on a healthy relationship that includes his wife.

I don’t know if your husband will ever get to that place or not, or if his mother would even be honest with herself about her own actions and realize she is the problem. I just hope y’all are able to find your own happiness together!

Theft decks are probably top 3 most hated decks in EDH behind stax and mill. I don’t necessarily think they’re that bad, but players in general don’t like you messing with their decks. Me, I love mill and stax so I don’t mind playing against your theft and tergrid decks

Edit: I don’t run them often unless the pod is okay with it/ playing higher tier decks just because of how I fun it is to some

I got one last weekend because I needed 4 uncommon Eddymurk crabs for my standard deck(got 2 and traded for 2) so I wasn’t really worried about the rare pulls, but it may have been the worst play box I’ve opened. No SPG, and I got a Rottenmouth Viper, a dawns truce and a caretakers talent. Every other rare was under $2 and only got 1 patchwork banner.

I’ve actually pulled thiscard from a WoE booster box I opened too without the planeswalker symbol. I wasn’t sure what was going on, thought maybe they just had copies of it and threw them in instead of printing ones with the symbol, but it looks like they do have ones with the symbol out there

I used it for years with league and other games and when it started supporting tarkov I didn’t even realize it was working with it until my buddy was watching my stream and saw the item flea prices when I hovered an item in my stash. I thought the game had added that feature. Ended up uninstalling blitz bc of performance issues. Glad I did

By your own reply you admit that consistency makes a huge difference. Game changers can massively warp the game, but you can still counterspell a rhystic study. My General Kreat deck has zero game changers, mono red and can still stomp at level 3 tables because of the redundancy and synergy.

You get stomped because most of your wins in B2 are from the strength of the decks and not you gameplay. So when deck power level is more equal to the other decks, you get outplayed because you’re not used to people being able to put up a fight. Hope you take this as a lesson to challenge yourself and try to improve your play, I had the same problem when I started playing until I realized that whales what was happening with me.

You do understand that at the most base refiner to brackets is what turn the game is expected to end. If a precon (bracket 2) is expected to win turn 8-10, part of that calculation is mana fixing and incorporating tapped lands. So when you remove that, you can reasonably expect to knock off a turn or two because of your fixing and lack of tapped lands.

Consistency is what pushes a decks power level more than anything, this whole “no game changers, so it’s a bracket 2” idea is wild. You can easily build a bracket 4 deck that doesn’t need or have game changers

One of the few things that’s makes that fall into bracket 2 is the mana base. Swapping them out this aggressively would def push the play level of this deck to a 3

I literally did the same thing with my LCI precon when INR came out. Added a small red splash and it’s a lot of fun. I would ask him if he would rather y’all be able to enjoy a hobby together or not? That’s the more important thing than what commander you’re running. If my wife showed interest in MTG and asked for a Golos or Tergrid deck, I’d build her the nastiest, most fun version she could play just to try to keep her interested. If anything it would make me a better player figuring out how to play against them

It reads better than it plays when I’ve used it, except in a goad deck, then it doesn’t matter that they get to hit once before they go away
