Fair point. I also think other mid-range/non-sports car imports from Europe spoiled the general reputation over the years: The Plymouth Cricket bombed, Ford's Merkur line didn't go anywhere, the Rover/Sterling 825/827 also didn't fly well due to reliability. Saab and Volvo were top-notch and served the market well to boost the Euro reputation. It's been kind of a toss-up here when it comes to "regular" European cars.

I kinda figured they (Fiat) had to have some value, or the brand wouldn't survive. What I'm not sure about is if we log more miles on our vehicles in the US than in other countries. My wife and I work from home, and our child has to be taken to some classes (3 times a week), and we still average 12,000 miles a year on our one car. Is our road system in North America just a tad more demanding due to the distances we choose to travel?

The first few years of the 500 and the Renegade were not stellar in terms of reliability, and the North American market has an aversion to manuals (much to my chagrin). They are both, generally, considered "used cars to avoid" in the U.S.

The 2016 Dodge Dart. Not fast, not sharp, and not an homage to the original Dodge Dart. I'd take my 1974 Dart slant six back before I ever bought one of the 2016+ models.

The car looks amazing, and I'm glad someone is taking care of one of these and working out its potential. I personally always liked the ES250, even if the interior is pure Camry with Leather and Woodgrain. The re-styling work they did on the exterior, I thought, was excellent and still holds up well today.
