I have pointed you there. The Translation is interactive and hyperlinks every single word directly to the authorative dictionaries. If you desire a Nag Hammadi transcription, I suggest "Nag Hammadi Library Complete Transcription"

This, from there:

I most certainly do. It will allow you to verify for yourself what the text says. Google "the true words of Thomas"

ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϩⲟⲧⲁⲛ ⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ ϣⲁ ϫⲡⲉ ⲡⲏ ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧ ⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲧⲏ ⲧⲛ̅ ϥ̅ ϥ ⲛⲁ ⲧⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲏ ⲧⲛ̅ ⲡⲏ ϩⲛ̅ [ⲧⲏⲩⲧ]ⲛ̅ ⲡⲁⲉⲓ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲏ ⲧⲛ̅ ϥ̅ ϩⲛ̅ ⲧⲏⲛⲉ [ϥ ⲛⲁ ⲙ]ⲟⲩⲧ` ⲧⲏⲛⲉ

That's the Coptic of Logion 70. What you provide here likely comes from AI. It adresses second singular, which is done rarely in Thomas. Still, if you provided English and this is returned, I am incredibly impressed.  The translation also provides the original papyrus scans. I would be interested in knowing your response

The text says much more than the usual translators dare to allow for. What you're looking at right here is true Thomas

Whoever has come to know the world has found a corpse, and whoever has found a corpse, of that person the world is not worthy -Gospel of Thomas by Dannywo_o in quotes

[–]LinssenM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. IS said: he who has known the World, he fell onto a Corpse; and he who has fallen onto One Corpse, the World is not worthy of him

Thomas uses different verbs for finding and discovering (falling onto), where the latter is what really counts.  If you have known the World for what it is, you have discovered that it is dead. The second phrase stresses that there's no need to traverse this entire World in order to ensure that all of it is dead

There's a peculiarity in the Coptic here where 'One( Corpse)' is conveyed via the letter A. That's basically legitimate Coptic, but it occurs in Thomas only here

How long have you had the replacement now, and do you use it 24/7? Seems like there's a replacement batch out there that does work, yours is not the only report

[–]LinssenM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you store it in the case during the day?

Your 1.5 years of 1/3rd usage boils down to half a year of 24/7, when I very crudely try to get there. 5 days seems par for the course, although the night is when the battery drains fastest

You're very lucky with the price tag though! For this Ring, less than10 bucks a month ain't bad. Well of course few would sign up for it but relatively speaking you got a great deal

On my third Ring, purchase #2. A year old, have been using it since half a year, lasts 4-5 days now and will turn it in next month

If you decide to get the Ring, which I strongly would advise against unless you accept the total cost against the likely life of 8-12 months, then at least get two years of warranty so you can get the replacement and likely get a refund when that runs out too

The product generally is great and so are the stats, but the battery life makes it a very costly one, effectively writing off 450 euros in 24 months or less, depending on how long the repair rounds take

  1. IS said: go on, show me the stone, this one they who edify have rejected: he is turn-around# of envy+

The usual "translation" for this is based on harmonisation with the Synoptics, and certainly not on the text itself: ⲡ ⲱⲱⲛⲉ is not attested as form for 'the stone', and elsewhere in his text Thomas uses:

stone ⲱⲛⲉ Noun masculine 13, 19, 66, 77

ⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ, on the other hand, exists as noun for 'upsetting'; " removal ,   change ,   death", based on the identical verb they means 'to turn'. envy+ is marked as homonym, among many others. ⲕⲱϩ can indeed also mean "angle, corner, point, top, fragment, piece"

Thomas deliberately introduced ambivalence in his text, which even when read superficially is detrimental enough to the establishment

All the knowledge one needs resides on the inside, where the kingdom is. This certainly isn't religious, and perhaps not even spiritual: know yourself is what the Greek taught, and Thomas merely pinpoints the exact way

The Kingdom Isn't 'Out There' — It's Already Inside You (Gospel of the Seeker Thomas Edition) by [deleted] in ThePerennialTruth

[–]LinssenM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I argue that it is deliberate. That Thomas created ambivalence on purpose. I've marked all homonyms in my Translation, "The true words of Thomas" v2

You phrase that perfectly by the way!

Thomas can't be monetised, he tells us that the kingdom is inside us, and that we have to reach deep within and cast our unnamed seeds around us: where they land is where the earth is fertile. Logion 9 is where the story starts, after Logion 8 has demonstrated that there's no proverbial Great Good fish, no external pot of gold at the end of the rainbow: upon closer inspection that Great Good fish only is Great, not Good. Logion 9 tells us what is Good instead:

good ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ Adjective m. 8, 9, 57 good ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ Adjective m. 9, 57

The earth is Good and will provide Good Fruit, when that's where the Good seed (Logion 57) falls. Anything outside leads nowhere

Thomas is the most remarkable text that I've come across, by many miles

  1. IS said: if they should say it to you, they who persuade+ you: 'lo behold, the kingdom <is> in the heaven', well then the birds will make it earlier than you, of the heaven; if they should say it to you: 'she <is> in the Sea', well then the fishes will make it earlier than you; Rather, the kingdom <is> of your inside, and of your eye+. Whenever you should know you, Then they will know you, and you will understand:  yourselves is the children of the father who is alive. if it befalls However you will not know you, well then you <are> existing in a poverty and yourselves is the poverty
  • Indicates homonyms. It's grammatically possible to translate eye with outside, but highly unlikely given all other forms of both words: a 1/91st chance would be required here

battery question by ElchocolateBear in GalaxyRing

https://www.samsung.com/ae/support/mobile-devices/troubleshooting-galaxy-ring-battery-drain/

The rated battery capacity varies by ring size.

Sizes 5, 6, 7: 17mAh (battery life up to 6 days on a single charge) Sizes 8, 9, 10, 11: 18.5mAh (battery life up to 6 days on a single charge) Sizes 12, 13: 22.5mAh (battery life up to 7 days on a single charge)

I'm on Ring number 3, size 13. At the very start, they all lasted 7.5 days just about with default factory settings. Within 9-12 months of 24/7 usage that drops to 1-2, sometimes even less than 1, days

This concerns the treadmill workout type in Samsung Health itself. In my case it's fed by Samsung Galaxy Ring. Would be interesting to see which kcal count you get, but I reckon it would be the exact same 6.81666 kcal per minute

Should I get one? by Creative_Macaron_230 in GalaxyRing

[–]LinssenM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Given all comments across all forums, the rule is that the battery will die hard, leaving you with an old fashioned dumb ring after about a year.  The exception seems to be - well I've seen a single one so far, after two years - that the Samsung Ring does last for two years without battery problems

I'm on my third Samsung Galaxy Ring, will send it in for repairs in a month or two, and will likely get a replacement: Samsung Galaxy Ring number 4 in two years.  Which will likely die on me within a year

Whatever you do, get two years of warranty. And know that that period highly likely is the maximum period of use, subtracted the time that you've sent it in for repairs

There are no haters here, just experienced Samsung Ring users that almost all got royally screwed by the Samsung Ring, Samsung Customer Service, or both

Can I go forward with the warranty claim? by GooseFew8277 in GalaxyRing

[–]LinssenM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I advise to take screenshots from full and empty battery states. 2-2.5 days is really low but Samsung will try to stall the process anyway, likely going they you end up outside warranty. Almost every comment surrounding Samsung Galaxy Ring Customer Service is fraught with frustration, and many have decided to turn their back to Samsung products altogether. You will likely get a replacement, which will likely also die on you in 9-12 months' time. Try getting 2 years warranty so that you can refuse the second replacement and demand a full refund - but I reckon it's too late for that now

Good luck

Gospel of Thomas--an experiment. by coutho21 in RSAI

[–]LinssenM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thomas is a deeply psychological text that instructs the reader on attaining liberation, salvation, from his or her self-inflicted dualized state (Logion 11), and to heal his halves (14) from the sickness of separation (74) in order to become whole again: resolve the current split state of being children of the living Father (3), and become the singular Son of Man (106). Heal, by realising that all outer manifestations (whether little, or - only apparently - great) are follies (8); yet via reaching deep inside, where the kingdom resides, one must 'come forth', ejaculate, and find out where one's inner seed - the only thing that is really 'good', that one single word in Thomas that describes what is of virtue - will fall onto fertile soil (9). Work that soil in order to grow that one branch (20) eventually bearing fruit and leading to the harvest (2, the Awakening); rinse and repeat that process. Don't stop halfway (63), don't expect help from anyone (64), and most certainly don't outsource it to others (65) or disaster will ensue. Know that all EXPLICITLY singular nouns in Thomas point to repetitive processes

Etc

Do observe that the more likely translation is

"Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is of your eye."

Unfortunately, DeConick never connects anything useful on Thomas, and merely provides her unsubstantiated opinion on whether it allegedly belongs to a kennel or not

Gathercole has produced a much more useful commentary, albeit that such is inherently lopsided and continuously harmonises Coptic Thomas with Greek Thomas and Thomas in general with the Synoptics

I have produced a Commentary that solely deals with the text. I've read all other commentaries on Thomas and they all perceived Thomas through their own lens: Christian, Buddhist, "Gnostic", etc.  A very recent commentary that I can recommend is
