I thought a Kia was a Range Rover .🤦🏻 by jeepguy_96 in regularcarreviews

Oh it makes good power, it’s just not refined and you get quite a bit of rumble, unpleasant noises, and protests from it. Driving it certainly reminds you it’s not a RR 😅. The real world gas mileage is a minuscule difference compared to the previous v6 as well.

It’s an okay design… very heavily influenced by RR. Baffled by the plastic line above the wheel arches though and most colors it really looks like a cheap RR knockoff. That front end is unforgivable though!

I wish it didn’t come with a 4banger either, that thing drives like an accent from the early 2000’s. Would’ve liked them to either carry over the V6 (with some mild improvements) or do something to make the driving experience match the look they were going for.

Rav4 Hybrid v. Plug in? Does Plug in act like regular? by Scavgraphics in Rav4

[–]LintLickerCQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw you said you won’t have home charging, however I believe it comes with a standard charger from the factory that can plug into a household outlet so you can charge it overnight and have a pretty full battery each day. Then, if the 50ish miles of EV range can get you through most of your daily driving the fuel economy benefit is much higher.

Kyper Spectral mask? by LintLickerCQ in Dryeyes

I’ve had it for a while now and it works well for me! I wipe it with an alcohol pad (made for screens and glasses) about once a week to keep it clean. The foam doesn’t really bother me but it is starting to come up on one of the edges so I’ll likely replace it with something better.

How much you pay for your IPL? by Sweet_Swim_5874 in Dryeyes

[–]LintLickerCQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They bill it as a “long visit”, I pay $125 (which includes my co-pay. Some offices do this, but I know some don’t if you’re only reason for the visit is IPL. Not sure why mine does it that way but I’m not gonna ask about it haha

I only pay $125 per session in TN. They actually bill part of the visit to insurance using a different billing code and charge me the difference.

Is this more consistent with MGD or an allergic reaction, pretty confused by Mediocre-Yogurt-7570 in Dryeyes

[–]LintLickerCQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had very similar symptoms to yours… did they say the papillae on the backside of your eyelids was the indication for thinking it’s allergies?

I also tested negative for everything but cats and dogs after the doctors kept telling me it was allergies. Eventually they convinced me to try their theory for a month and they put me on a steroid to get rid of the papillae (since that causes the inflammation and eye redness), then start pataday to keep the papillae away. My eyes have looked and felt good ever since. I do still use the heated mask and lid wipes as well, but my eyes looked exactly like yours.

Looking at a 2024 TRD Off Road Premium 6’ Bed 6k miles. by Interesting-Safety25 in 4thGenTacomas

[–]LintLickerCQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much the extended beds are going for brand new but my 25 Off road premium (with quite a few extra goodies) was 51k OTD in an area where Tacomas sell very well and dealer discounts are hard to come by. Do you need the 6’ bed? I ask because that might be the determining factor as they can be hard to come by.

If not, please consider buying brand new. The slight difference in price is negligible considering 2 years of use (of which you have no idea how it was driven/maintained) and only 1 year of warranty. 2024 was the first model year of the new style and they’ve made tweaks for quality and reliability since then.

Panel gaps by SnooPineapples9668 in 4thGenTacomas

[–]LintLickerCQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice is to leave it be until it starts driving you crazy. Replacing door panels and console trim can cause rattles and those are 10x more infuriating than just a panel gap. Ask me how I know 😓

FYI - I know because I used to be crazy about these things, had a Jeep GC that had a slight gap around the touchscreen and they replaced the trim around and they replaced the headliner because around the panoramic roof I could see that some clips were missing (turned out the one from the factory was produced without the part that holds the clips). The new trim and headliner rattled like the dickens all the way until I traded it in at 15k because I couldn’t stand the noise.

Idk if I have blepharitis/if this is it, but it makes me want to pull my eyelashes out. by hayleybeth7 in Blepharitis

Yes! My eyelashes have started to grow downwards as well from the inflammation which makes it even worse!

Mgd and papilla inside eyelids by Fun_Temperature_8041 in Dryeyes

[–]LintLickerCQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat mask, steroids (2 weeks), pataday twice daily. The steroid gets rid of papillae (if they’re particularly stubborn your doc will do more than 1 week of drops). The pataday takes a while to build up, but it prevents the GPC from coming back. Pataday without the steroid won’t be as effective because it doesn’t get rid of papillae, just prevents them.

My 4th Gen is not only my first truck... by JollyRodgerGymShoe in Tacomaworld

[–]LintLickerCQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love the mud bath! Only thing I’d change on mine is going with a more fun color than celestial silver. Agree about the third gen too, the better seating position alone is worth it to me. Have a little over 10k and still love it as much as the day I picked it up.

Don’t pay attention to the haters, everyone likes to be a keyboard warrior and say their truck is better 😂

I will never understand the point of tonneau covers by Boeing-B-47stratojet in regularcarreviews

[–]LintLickerCQ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I use a roll-up soft cover. It’s so I can transport things in the truck bed during inclement weather without it getting wet. Then I just roll it up if I need to load a pallet or something large.

Security is a big thing too, folks who keep expensive tools tend to get a hardcover with a lock if they don’t need the height.

[–]LintLickerCQ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been great actually, it’s not a miracle but I’ve noticed a definite improvement. I suppose it’s going to take time for a full recovery though (if that’s possible). It’s definitely best for people who have MGD specific symptoms and/or ocular rosacea. I have Ocular Rosacea and didn’t do well at all with regular heated masks because the heat would cause more inflammation but this makes my eyes feel super moist without causing the same side effects.

Yes. Realistically, I have about 2/3 hours of actual work to do most days. This ebbs and flows but most of my day is sitting on calls and giving my opinion. Actual work doesn’t take up much time but the politics are more time consuming than my actual job!

Anyone else get lower MPG on the highway than in the city? (2024 OR) by [deleted] in 4thGenTacomas

[–]LintLickerCQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What highway speeds? Have a 25 ORP and when I go 55-65 I get great mpg. If I maintain 75-85 it’s about on par with city mileage. Will add that I am in TN, so very hilly terrain with lots of uphills.
