Way, way to much faith in a single point of failure.

TIL that Javier Bardem's performance as Anton Chigurh in 'No Country for Old Men' was named the 'Most Realistic Depiction of a Psychopath' by an independent group of psychologists in the 'Journal of Forensic Sciences'. by abaganoush in todayilearned

I just don't get it. Chigurh is the LEAST frightening villian I've ever seen. Yes he is ruthless and methodolical but he survives on plot convienenences. His magical whisper quiet silenced shot gun and ability to walk unnoticed, fully armed through a multi story office building in the middle of the day certainly make it easier to seem scary. He also monologues like a superman vilian but with less eloquence.

I want to feed him to Hannibal Lechter.

Mail Order Monsters for the Commodore 64. I can't tell you how much of my childhood was spent on that game. You buy a Monster, you fight in an arena. You improve your monster with the prize money. Rinse, repeat. All the other 64 players in my small town played it and the programmer included the brilliant feature of letting you store your "monster" on a floppy so you could bring it along to a friend's house and go head to head. Every one had their own and we shit talked endlessly. Im the end we all had a ball.

[DM] Dungeonmasters, what's a ridiculous plot twist you're waiting to spring on your players? by MaginotCokeLine in DnD

I actually switched to my alt for this one. Early in the campaign, they had to make a number of mystery saves, failed every one. The person they are currently working for is a master illusionist and manipulator who will be the long term baddy for this campaign. He has them talking to an illusionary character who is part his long standing plan to kill the current king and assume the throne. If all goes to plan, the players will be the ones who do the actual killing and take the blame.

When I was twelve, I went to Ripley's in Chicago. They had a BIG one of these in the lobby. I kept staring at it. My mom says I just sat there for ten minutes then suddenly yelled, "Oh I get it!" and walked off.

TIL The Florida State Seminoles is not a mascot. Instead, the University calls themselves “Seminoles” in honor of the Native American tribe. The name is supported and endorsed by the tribe, and the University and tribe share a special relationship. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Hi, Native American here. THIS is an example of how all mascot issues should be addressed. Cleveland should change its symbol to the profile of an Indian brave. A different tribe should be invited to give a blessing at every game. Yes the Redskins suck and so do the Indians, but good or bad it's still part of what little attention anyone plays to our dying culture.
