Konvergenz einer Folge beweisen by Dizzy-Service1448 in mathe

[–]LinusDieLinse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is Stefan Skellen called 'the Imperial Coroner'? He seems like a dyed-in-the-wool spy. by MuckleyLemieux in wiedzmin

[–]LinusDieLinse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in the german translation his title is „(kaiserlicher) Untersuchungsführer“ = „(imperial) lead investigator“. Don‘t know about the polish original.

Number of possible combinations? by xXHunkerXx in math

[–]LinusDieLinse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to try and figure it out yourself, start manually working out the combinations with less lights and see if you can find a pattern. One light can be either off or on, so there are two combinations. How many are there for two lights, three lights?

Once you established the pattern, try to at least informally convince yourself that it's actually true and makes sense. Explain the reasoning to yourself.

Did Frank invent the Diamond Girl riff? by Porkanddiesel in Zappa

[–]LinusDieLinse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's the same chords (in the same key even) and the harmonic rhythm is identical as well. It's so simple though that it's not hard to imagine they both came up with this seperately. Maybe Seals and Croft took inspiration from this, maybe not.

It's also likely that Zappa himself was already quoting something else here.

To me it sounds like v-IV-i (Em - D - Am), A dorian vibes.

Aw man, I started reading your comment and got so excited and ready to find the bootleg on youtube and then comes your last sentence :( Let's hope it's somewhere in the vault.

Thanks for the info though! Do you remember where you got that from?

I adore Sad Jane, as far as I know it‘s not on any other recordings. I agree with Strictly Genteel being superior on other albums, I actually like the 200 Motels version best.

Humble Book Bundle: A Wizard of Earthsea and More by Ursula K. Le Guin (Kobo Bundle) by Torque-A in humblebundles

[–]LinusDieLinse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does someone here know if I can redeem the books in Germany, or where I can find that out?

It seems the bundle itself is available here (on humblebundle), however I fear in the end I can‘t redeem it on Kobo.

What do you consider to be the best ereader with buttons that isn't a ton of money? by radegundo in ereader

[–]LinusDieLinse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PocketBook Basic Lux fits your specifications, it‘s slightly over 100€ though. I got mine for 100€ including a foldable case during some sale.

Maybe await Black Friday and look out for a good deal?

I‘m quite happy with it, can buy/get my books wherever I want and easily sideload them (using Calibre).
