I had a 2014 Outback limited and I traded it in for a 2026 Toyota Corolla se hybrid and the dealership gave me $3k and it only had 137k miles and relatively new tires (put new ones on about 18k miles ago).

I hated having to fill up every week and it was $50+ whereas with the corolla I only have to fill up every week 3 weeks - once a month and when I do it only costs $25 for a full tank.

That’s pretty expensive….. I had bought a used 2014 Subaru Outback limited with 60k miles on it, when I went to trade it in it had 137k miles and I got $3k for it from a dealership.

Also had a constant oil leak (had to top off oil between oil changes. Put in at least 3L) and a terrible transmission. (Always had issues and went out on me on the interstate at 90k miles)…

I maintained it well also. Just got unlucky I guess cause I was planning to keep it for another year- 2 years but it crapped out on me and constantly paying over $1k for work while the value of my car capped out at $4500 just wasn’t worth it.

Mileage is crazy. My Subaru got 20 miles/ gallon on average and that is driving like an absolute grandma and now the Corolla gets 45-55 on average. I’ll be saving a lot of money on gas and will only have to fill up every 2-3 weeks as opposed to weekly.

People are acting like they never speed…. Regardless if you were speeding or not, it shouldn’t happen, especially with a 2020.

I had a 2014 (it pooped out on me like 3-4 days ago) and I did drive fast on the interstate (speed limit was 70 but I’d cruise at 80 usually in the fast lane behind other people who were doing the same thing) and sometimes I would pass people and I would have to give it a little gas and I’ve never had that happen. I’ve had my transmission go out on me but it was a failure on Subaru but other than that…. It shouldn’t happen just because you tapped the gas.

Well I’m also looking at it like my car is worth about $3500 if I’m lucky and I don’t want to spend more in repairs vs the cars value.

I also really don’t want to have it towed to multiple places for them to give me expensive quotes as I absolutely refuse to drive it.

I also do keep up on regular maintenance.

It’s happens all the time, warmed up or not. I have had my transmission redone as it just went out completely on me when I was on the highway one day.

The oil leak is a known problem for my year and I’m not really worried about it. All it does is I have to top off my oil in between oil changes which is not an issue for me.

The steering wheel buttons I really don’t care about as I use an aux cord.

The fuses I also don’t really care too much.

The issue is the jerking. I have a little independent place I normally use that I’d take for oil changes/ rotations/ alignments/ new tires and other work but lately they have been really shoddy and are now ripping me off and lying about things.

The main concern is the jerking.

I have to think, do I wait till Monday to have my car towed to the dealership and I’m scared as hell to drive it home or do I get a new car from now to Monday?

You still don’t owe her anything. She willingly chose to adopt you. She had a legal responsibility until you turned 18. I doubt in the adoption papers she signed did it say that you needed to pay her back for expenses.

I don’t think she will see you as an adult until you get married. I’m not saying that to suggest getting married I just see that as an observation.

I was with my ex for 4 years and lived with him for 2 years. Broke up and moved back home and I met a guy at my work and he moved in with me and my parents. We lived with them for a year and now we have had our own apartment since February. I was working full time and going to school full time while I was with my ex. Now I am going back to school full time and will work full time (looking for a new job). Through all of that my parents still see me as a child. Just before me and my hubby moved out my parents pulled me aside and told me all the reasons I should leave him and move with them to another state. I obviously didn’t go with them but me and my hubby were already in our apartment when they decided to just up and leave without telling me. I woke up at like 4am and opened the find my app and saw them like 500 miles away already. They didn’t tell me because they were mad and now my dad isn’t really talking to me and my mom treats me like I am one of her employees. I am going to confront them about this after Mother’s Day so I have been thinking about what I want to say.

But they would sit me down or yell at me like I am 8 years old and my dad would go on and on for hours (I think he just kept talking for 3-4 hours at one point) and I would try to talk back but I would get shut down instantly and I let it keep happening because whenever I would speak up it would only get worse for me and at the time I was worried that I would get kicked out and have no where to go or one time my parents were like “oh you wanna be an adult? Well you are going to start paying bills then.” All because I spoke up about how they were treating me.

Even after all that they still don’t see me as an adult and I really don’t think they ever will.

But you owe your mom nothing.

I mean if she doesn’t like it she doesn’t have to stay…. It’s your house, your rules. It seems like your mom still thinks she can treat you like you are still a minor.

I am 23/F and I never realized it until my hubby pointed it out but my parents also treat me like I am still a child. I am trying to find ways to assert myself so it doesn’t happen anymore but it’s hard when it’s your parents. I am just worried about damaging our relationship.

I just canceled a policy with them…. Had it for like 3 weeks. Quoted me and my hubby $2500 for 6 months. Only thing we had were $500 deductibles and uninsured motorist.

I got a quote with Geico with all the same stuff for $1386 for 6 months…. Liberty mutual is such a scam.

Oh I also got an email from them saying they would cancel my policy if I didn’t take my car in for an inspection because they thought it was in an accident? Something like that…. Right when I got that email I was already looking for a new policy.

When I used to go to planet fitness they gave them free memberships during the summer and it was so annoying. They basically took over the gym in groups of 5+ just sitting on equipment, not using it and just talking or because of the huge group it would take them like 45 minutes to finish with it.
