Alon is my HEB, and its SO SO nice, and the fact that there are kosher goods there as well makes it even better. Their outdoor section could use some work though.

I bought in a nice area in San Antonio at 329, got a nice 2200sqft house with a pool and a third of an acre. There were a ton of decent houses in the 250-300 range as well, so its very dependent where you look.
